If Jimbo or Herman is hired Etling won't be the Qb you better believe that. They both like athletic qbs.

Sure. battle every spring. But Etling is much better than Harris. Rewatch the first 2 games.

When you run for 300 yards a game, it's easy to be QB. It's laughable that Etling gets a pass because the OL was horrible, but Harris doesn't get a pass against Wiscy because ppl were getting abused up front

the Oline definitely deserves criticism, but not all of it like I've seen on tRant this morning

Grimes deserves more criticism than the line. It has regressed in most areas since his hiring.

I'm OK with an open competition because it's not like anybody has earned job security but I'm puzzled at this new party line that Harris is some mine of untapped potential.

no doubt there will be an open competition. Gonna be a rebuilding year for LSU. Maybe Harris starts but i see one of the younger guys ending next year as our QB.

I think most will admit that Harris is more talented than Etling from a physical standpoint, correct?

I think people just really want to see what Harris could do with someone like Fisher or Herman, who are known for developing QBs

Why? So you can watch Harris throw it so far over the receiver's head it goes out of the stadium? You really want to give the job back to the guy that couldn't even move the ball against Jacksonville St? Unreal.

Ok. So this is where we choose to judge the QB on two series in his career, and ignore all other games?

Just in case you missed my Post from another thread, here are a few facts.

One scored 16 points as bad as he was, one scored 0 against Bama and not TD's against Auburn.

One had 128 passing yards against bama with a TD and 1 INT's and several dropsies from Quinn behind and similar Oline. One had 92 and 1 INT with several one hoppers with receivers in perfect position to move the chains.

One played one the road @Bama and one was at home.

Record:
L 30-16
L 10-0

Passing:
128 yd 40 LNG 1 TD 1 INT 95.0 RAT
92 yds 41 LNG 0 TD 1 INT 69.7 RAT

Rushing:

Harris 5 ATT 20 YDS 4.0 AVG 16 LNG 0 TD
Etling 6 ATT -15 YDS -2.5 AVG 7 LNG 0 TD

Harris should have played in this game. Best option we had. Facts.

I think it's a little too late for BH. I think his time here is done and he'll transfer this summer. I would have liked for him to get some meaningful snaps against Mizzou and Southern Miss and see what he could do with the wrinkles in our somewhat new offense.

Etling has proved he has better pocket awareness, and may know more of the playbook, but his arm is no better than mine, and he's no more accurate than Harris, which isn't saying much. He's thrown 1 deep ball worth a shite all year, and that was the was in the back of the endzone to Chark that could have killed him had he thrown it closer to the goal posts.

If we are going to run this type of offense where the QB is never a threat to run, then we need a fricking qb that has an accurate arm. If we don't have a QB that can complete simple passes, then we might as well have Fournette be the QB.

At this point, i'd rather see Fournette and Guice play the read option a few times a game b/c i don't think McMillan is any good and Scott needs to redshirt.

at what point in the game can you justify bringing in Harris? The game was tied 0-0 for 50 minutes. Just curious as to your thoughts on this

2 series? We tried the kid when he was a freshman and he had all last year. He's shown no improvement and struggled way too much for a junior quarterback with that much starting experience.

Our O-line is, maybe, the worst we have had in years.

It's like some of you overreact on a game by game basis. Up until the Alabama game, the offensive line had been playing extremely well. The guys along the line weren't put in any position to succeed against Bama when they were reading our mail on every play. It's tough to have any success offensively against a good defense when the defense knows what you are about to run before you even run it.

there should be,

but we got a white QB with mascara and all are happy.

I see ZERO reason to not see if we can find a hot hand when it was obvious that Etling was in over his head. shite, but Scott in and see if he can scramble around..do something.

the point where three wide open receivers were missed, two unnecessary timeouts taken, one delay of game taken.

That point, you gotta try something. It literally could not be worse.

Harris sucked against inferior competition. It's laughable to think he would do any better against the meat of the SEC.
