No young excuses? We promise? We're all good to go next season? No more excuses, we win and execute next year and finish at least top 2 in west.

Next year we will be "young" lol

Until we get players to stay it will always be the case. Most likely lose 4 starters on the Oline with only 2 due to graduation.

Who knows though might still be the year

Next year LSU should be a very strong team.

first of all, we will have a new and young OL. then if the wrong juniors go to the NFL we will have holes on defense.

so "the year" depends on who stays and if we can develop our OL.

and of course we have to have much improved QB play resulting in a team that can keep drives alive by the passing game.

Offense could be touch-and-go in the beginning. We will possibly be breaking in a new QB (again. . .), and will have at least 2 spots to fill on the o-line. Once that starts to gel, we have LF and Darrell in the backfield, Dupre and Quinn (and maybe still Dural) at receiver with a seasons worth of experience. If the line syncs up good together and one of the QBs finally gets it, the offense could be pretty productive.

If we don't suffer another mass exodus, next years defense has the potential to be just a shade under the 2011 kind of nasty.

If we don't develop a QB, it will be same ole 4th quarter games, and those on the road will be a toss-up.

Starters we will lose/could* lose:

Offense:
-Collins
-porter
-alexander*
-hawkins*
-neighbors
-dural*

-not to mention Hilliard/Magee stokes and Washington

Defense:
-rasco
-hunter*
-kwon*
-collins*
-Martin
-mills*

-robinson* (if kicked off the team)

I think the number of * that are on the roster next year will be the difference between championship and solid team.
-If just one of hunter/Kwon stay, along with one one of Alexander/Hawkins we can make a run. Hunter and Hawkins are most important recruits for miles this season. Debo would fill in for Kwon better than what is behind hunter. And we have guards to plug in but losing both tackles would hurt

While I think it's a moot point, because I feel Harris will be the QB next season, you do realize LSU just beat the #3 team in Ole Miss with Jennings at QB?

Depends on the early defections and how fast the OL can be rebuilt.

It SHOULD be. Depends as always on the draft, but you would figure enough core pieces come back. Hopefully we don't have a lot of defections again. Optimistic for sure, but we could have eighteen returning starters. Only Collins, Porter, Rasco and Martin are graduating. You gotta figure there will probably be 3-4 defections, but that's still 14 returning starters.

By comparison:
2013: 11
2014: 12 (11, if we want to count Welter, who shouldn't have been starting)

EDIT: And probably more important than how many returning starters is which ones. Of the 12 returning in 2014, two were the TE and FB... not quite the same as, say, returning two DEs.
