Why are we still on this? Bottom line is this. 1. Trent is KO guy primarily because of seniority, 2. Trent kicks OOB, gets replaced by Cameron 3. Cameron kicks the exact type of ball Les wants, but can't pooch that well 4. Les puts Trent back in to pooch because cover team can't do their job So in other words.... If Les wants a ball out of back of endzone, Trent can do that but that is not what Les wants ..... If he wants a high hang-time dropping at the 5, (which he does) Cameron is the man... But our cover team can't handle it. The problem is Les is being dumb and should wait til cover team can do their job before trying the high short kick. He needs to just let Trent blast out the back of the endzone..... And while he is at it, he needs to put Colby back on FG/PAT duty.

I would agree with this entire statement because Les absolutely tells his kicker to kick it high and short to force a return but, once it has been established that a return is detrimental bc our coveage blows then why didn't Les just tell Gamble to kick it out the endzone instead of us squibbing?

Suicidal, considering our KO return coverage. Every time one of our opponents takes a KO at the 5, I close my eyes in fear of the worst.

If this is true, then why was Les pooch kicking and giving them the ball at the 40 yard line, instead of kicking it out of the endzone and giving it to them at the 25?

I'll hang up and listen.

I just wish people would stop saying our kickers can't put it out of the endzone.

Can't argue with this. I've heard the exact same thing and I'm wondering why we are squibbing when we could touchback

Heard what, that they could kick it out the endzone?

I know this, that SC kicker could kick it out of the back of the endzone, often. Not just once at practice.

Yea, basically that we aren't kicking it out the endzone because Les has called for a kick with a return which is fine unless of course you have trouble covering a returned kick.

We have a better kicker on the team than anyone they have trotted out this year. Gonsulin, preferred walk-in, he is better than all our scholarship kickers.

Believe what you want but he's right. Do you really think theses guys can't kick it deep?

I agree, this idea is fantasy.

I am going to go back to believing that as well. That the kickers can't kick it deep into the endzone. It's what I originally believed until being convinced otherwise by self proclaimed 'in the know' sorts and the only thing that makes any sense. To be able to kick it out the endzone and not do it, with our coverage team, would be complete and utter idiocy. I have more faith in the coaches than that.

Why don't they kick it out of bounds? Gives them ball at the 35and there is no chance of a return of any kind. Seems better than pooching to the 35/40 where it can still be advanced. That's definitely a better option. There's no telling what's going on in that dude's head but this shite needs to be fixed

Yes, I believe that they can't kick it deep.

Otherwise, why are we pooch kicking to the 40-45 yard line and not kicking it out of the endzone, like their kicker did?

No one has answered that question yet.
