CC signing for 3 only means LM is here for at least that.

Most wins in college football for the last 11 yrs:

1 Boise State 0.84138 122 23 0 145
2 Oregon 0.79310 115 30 0 145
3t Louisiana State 0.77778 112 32 0 144

Anyone want to tell me another LSU head football coach here for at lease a few yrs. with a better record for success???

While 8 L's in the past 2 yrs. is no longer acceptable at LSU, lets not act like Miles hasn't done enough here to be given the chance to overcome the "failure" of a 9-3, 16th ranked football season.

As to Cam, I don't know bout the 3 yr. extension and what it says bout anything. I haven't read the contract, but the LSU O many on here bitch bout continually was the 4th ranked O in the SEC while being ran by a true Soph. who played the last 3rd of the season with an injury that required surgery.

For the first time in 3 years, I find myself getting excited about the upcoming season. Upgrade at DC, excellent recruiting class, Craig helping out the Offense, and Miles visiting othe schools in the off season to check out other offenses.

I know people are gun shy about Miles saying changes are coming but I happen to believe this go round.

It has been said over and over. Cam is NOT the sticking point. Les is.

I totally understand the extension for cohesion and know that him being replaced ahead of 2016 would've been a problem. Two new coordinators is a tough pill to swallow......granted Aranda is a rockstar hire.

As long as Miles doesn't have his hands on the PlaySheet and not overriding calls, I'm ok. Call your 4th down plays, fake field goals, and fake punts... But keep away from the offense please.

Come November, we'll be undefeated. Come December, we'll be 9-2. Same old story.

And waiting to see what crappy participation trophy bowl we'll be in.

For some people, that's enough.

Fingers in ear saying lalala, or trolling. I can't really tell anymore from you.

You also failed to mention that les controls sport of what goes on offensively .

So using your logic, maybe you think you should take Les's job?

Because we upgraded our DC and our qb recruiting was hurt by the rumors. Do you remember we Felipe Franks committed for a long time and then the rumors pushed him away

That's not what happened. Franks was wavering even before we started losing games.

Im just saying that going into a season with a lame duck OC does nothing but hurt recruiting. It does no good.

Why even go into the season with that lame duck coach? There are tons of OCs that can perform better. Look at what Lincoln Riley did for Oklahoma in one year or what Cumbie/Meachem did with TCU in one year, or what Lane Kiffin did with Bama in one year, etc, etc. That was with a QB change for Bama and Oklahoma, and Boykin was in a pro style offense but switched to an air raid.

Stop acting like we should settle for the mediocre shite. LSU is always reactive and never proactive.

It doesn't matter which board, I've noticed that very few posters ever take the time to look through the thread. As a result, dumbassery.

I meant the recruits that youll actually have a chance of signing. Washington barely had a top 40 class and the Pac 12 had 4 teams with a top 20 class while the SEC had 5 teams with a top 10 class(8 sec programs had a top 20 class or better). Its safe to say that LSU is recruiting against a much tougher field.

Yes because recruiting with Washington as your base is the same as recruiting with Louisiana as your base....

Agreed. Thats one of the main reasons i wanted Cam back for this upcoming season. I didn't want any excuses about breaking in a new offense. Lsu finally held on to the most important draftable juniors.

Breaking in a new offense has not been an excuse for several teams as I mentioned previously.

Oklahoma 8-5 to 11-2 Big 12 champ with a new QB and new OC/QB coach and new offensive scheme.

TCU 4-8 to 12-1 (co-Big 12 champ) with a new OC/QB coach, new WR coach, and vastly different scheme change.

Bama 12-2 non SEC champion to 12-2 SEC champion with a new OC/QB coach, new offensive philosophy, and a QB turned RB turned QB again with no starting experience, replacing a 3 year starting twice national champion, all time program career passing leader.

We also lost our defensive coordinator and rumors were flying about Cam's job. LSU still racked up in recruiting.

The class was awesome, but didn't have a strong finish. LA isn as loaded this cycle, LSU will have to go oos to fill the class with top prospects. That's when the 1 year contract comes into play. Could be a deciding factor for kids living further away.

Possibly, but LSU still had a pretty damn strong finish to end up ranked in the top 3 of recruiting classes (especially considering all that transpired at the end of the season).

With a senior QB and in a conference that thinks defense is a bad word.

Let's see what Harris can do before we keep bitching like school girls on the rag.

The years don't matter except giving the illusion of continuity for recruiting. It's like NFL contracts for 8 years and 100+ million. All that matters is what's guaranteed. You can still be cut at any time.

Just like with Cam, all that really matters is his buyout. He can be fired at anytime.

I agree with your premise here, but that gap between guaranteed and stated contract value represents the buyout.
