He doesn't seem too thrilled about it. I wish the coaches gave him more of a shot on defense, but I guess they know best.

My first thought is he is too small for a 3-4 DE and too big for a 3-4 LB. idk.

Yea, he seems kinda bummed about it. Imo he wants to get playing time and I believe he can see the field earlier at TE

I trust Miles when it comes to these changes.

J.C Copeland - DT-FB
Melvin Jones- LB-FB

I understand they were full backs and not TE, but Roddy is damn athletic, strong, and has a mean streak. I think he actually played some tightend in high school. I remember some one raving saying he actually has good hands. Nonetheless I feel it will work out. He can still be used as a situational pass rusher if need be.

There are two good pass catching TEs, one good blocking TE, and one good all around TE ahead of him. The only way I see him on the field this year is as an extra blocker in the jumbo package or if Moreau gets hurt.

Something tells me we are using H-backs and Tight ends this year.

THis is my thought, as well...Just the wrong system for him, not saying he couldn't develop into a DE, though...Just quicker chance on the field as a TE...

Kid has a great attitude about it. If we would have stayed with a 4-3 he more than likely would have stayed at DE. I really hope he flourish.

Believe Smith said himself he isnt 100% yet. Im assuming Caleb's gotten comfortable at TE and he will see the field early

Desean and Jacory both have the best hands on the team without a doubt in my mind. Both of them just have difficulties blocking because they weren't required to do it in high school with the offenses they ran.

He needs to be patient. Only a freshman. Let's see how it progresses the next 2-3 years. Tight ends who can block and have good hands have a long career path in the NFL.

Disappointing unless he kills it at TE.
Pulling for him.

The issue is we don't throw to the te. So how will he shows off his skills? I feel bad for the kid
