He is doing to LSU what Les did to Arkasas a couple years ago. FSU will give him a raise and he will come out and say he has no interest in leaving.

He'd be crazy to go back to LSU. He has a better gig with less competition in an inferior conference at FSU. His chances of winning conference championships are much greater at FSU, meaning a better record, better career, more $$$$, etc.

Jimbo was not ready to coach when Saban left.

We were one year off of a NC. You don't hire assistant coaches as head coach when you are the top program in the country. He was an OC for several years under Bowden before assuming the title.

The buyout gets spread over a number of years. It's not a balloon payment. With the money coming in from the SEC network, it's not a big factor.

This. Hopefully, he stays put. I did not like his handling of the Jameis Winston situation. He enabled JW and acted like an emasculated wuss.

Out of curiosity - what's the Jimbo attraction? FSU would have lost the same games LSU have this year. They lost to Ga Tech.

He's young (50 years old) and has a proven track record of developing QBs and coordinating an offense around them and their strengths. At Auburn, LSU and FSU.

Every QB he had at LSy except for Marcus Randall was first or second team all SEC. He got fricking Christian Ponder and EJ manuarl drafted high as frick. he gets the most out of his offensive talent.

It's easier to find a defensive minded coach to run that side of the ball with the athletes that can be recruited out of this state if you have an innovator on offense than the reverse.

Miles has no forte...on either side of the ball and needs to depends on two top notch coordinators to lead his team. Then, he meddles with wha they do best.

Jimbo takes care o the offense in a state loaded with skill players and nobody to compete against with in state recruiting...with what he can do offensively, the DC list is LONG for qualified replacements for Steele and even Chief.

I am not a fan of hiring Fisher because I clearly remember calling him Jimblow Fisher because his play calling was not overly impressive at LSU. Was he being held back by Saban and Miles? Does he call the plays at FSU?

While his team did end up winning, his play calling during the national championship against auburn was atrocious.

Because he has been a Tiger. He knows that this is not the 90's. LSU is a much bigger brand now, and plays in the real big time. He would want his chance at the true big time.

Yep, whatever P5 team picks him up will do really, really well.

Nah, we got a very supportive President and a pretty decent AD. The ones before them not so much.

Did Jimbo Allie Winston back on the team like Miles did with a team vote? Some of you must of forgot how Miles handled the Shadys innocent.

Agreed. He has a much easier path to win a championship in the ACC than coming to the toughest division in CFB, The SEC West.

Alabama is the only reason that argument holds any water. Texas A&M is a joke, Bielema will never have any real success at Arky, I think Auburn will end up firing Malzahn within ~3 years, and the Mississippi schools might put together a halfway decent team every few years, but they are no threat to ever sustain success for a long time. So basically, that argument boils down to, "It's easier if you're not in the same division as Saban." I don't think Jimbo is afraid of competing with Saban, and even if he is, Saban is an old man.
