You would think when the stadium was built, wire or wooden slats would be installed at the bottom of the bull pen benches to prevent the balls from going underneath them.

I thought the same thing. Or just make it a box with a bench seat on top?

ive wondered if its possible to putt fold down seats (lie stadium chairbacks) that could be put onto the the fence (reinforced)
so if no one is down there, there are no obstacles, and once they get up to move out of way, no issue either

I didn't realize we had a bull pen this year.

They need to fix that in the offseason.
Make it to where it can't go underneath it and it just bounces off it.
At least recently it's gone LSU's way but our players should know the ground rules you would hope

In fairness, it would be an easy fix. I realize the away teams are explained the "ground rules" before the games. However, it "is" an advantage for the Tigers, because the ground rules are kind of like fine print on a contract.

I've heard people saying that it's an Alex box ground rule that if you go for it then the "stuck ball ground rule double" is null and void. I'm almost 100% positive that rule applies to basically every level of baseball and not just in our home stadium.

This is correct. For some reason some opposing players still don't understand that when a ball goes under a bench or the padding.

Seems like the easy solution. Solid wood benches with no way for a ball to get under them.

I disagree. This is what makes baseball interesting, IMO. Outside of the distances between the bases, mound & home plate, and mound height there's a lot of nuance in field dimension, foul territory, wind direction, wall height, bullpen placement, etc.

Easy to fix or not, the ground rules are covered verbally every game prior to first pitch. Both coaches and umps meet at home plate and PM points them out. I love those benches for some reason.

If idiots that come to God's Box for postseason play would pay attention when we meticulously go over the ground rules and then give a ground rules tour, no one would ever have a problem.

I've been told that it will be updated before next year.
