What I love about him is that he hits the ball all over the field. Going to be a fun 3 years.

Yeah I see no reason to change 3-4-5 as it stands right now. I can see changes in every other part of the order though, except Laird staying at top at either 1-2. I think Laird may end up being a better leadoff guy than Sciambra, and if Sciambra doesn't break out of his early season slump, he could drop to the bottom part of the order and Ibarra move to the top.

Dean-Mitchell-shimpf-mahtook was the best 3-4-5-6 ever

Sciambra will be fine and I like Laird in the two hole and Ibarra as the sixth. Not an easy out in this lineup.

I don't think Mainieri ever filled out a line up card with those as the 3-4-5-6.

I think 97 with Larson and Furniss or 98 with Cresse and Furniss would have to be way up there regardless of who the other person was.

Jones and Ross are both hitting poorly right now, I can excuse Jones because he still draws a boatload of walks for a high OBP. Ross is weird to me this year, he's NEVER hit this poorly. Isn't drawing walks, but he isn't striking out either. How are you hitting .205 with only 4 SO in 39 AB? That's putting the ball into play a lot for a .205 average.

I'm ok with Ross' poor hitting as long as he continues to be solid behind the plate and is the only one. Like you said, JaCoby has been abnormally patient at the plate this year and is hitting the ball hard.

Tyler Moore has only struck out once and hasn't drawn a walk but is hitting over .300.

damn, some solid players right there. Anybody know how Gibbs is doing? I haven't heard anything about him since he left.

Not worried about Ross, his hits will come. Jacoby has struggled, but I don't mind it as long as he stays patient at the plate. Bregman Rhymes Katz and Laird have been incredible.

my memory only reaches back as far as the T Walker
days but since then LSU has had many formidable
line-ups. it'd be hard to chose which to take to
Omaha but it would be fun all over again!

That's a bummer. I thought he possibly had a future in the majors. I suppose it's still early.

I think Ross will turn it around. By the end of last year, I thought he was the edge of being as good or better than Gibbs as an all around player. I really thought he would break through offensively this year. It can only be a matter of time. If the newcomers and core of our lineup keep up their performance at the plate, I can only imagine how dangerous the lineup will become once Ross and/or Jacoby turn it on.

In 2008 it was B. Dean, M. Gibbs, M. Clark. Lots of HRs that year from Dean and Clark
