10% better comp rate and you'd get "a LOT more from the passing game".
Harris missed some easy wide open targets and only 56% on 1st down won't cut it. That should be 70%+.
Pretty evident when LSU passed a lot it didn't go well and it isn't as simple as just calling more passes

The receiver may be open, but the position out of which Harris is asked to throw (backing up after taking snap from under Center) make it different.

Making a wide open lay up in basketball is easy.... unless I'm forced to shoot with only my off hand from the side opposite my off hand.

I don't know where you "we just need to execute better" people come from. Watch other games besides LSU, even teams that barely win 5 games can put out a walk on QB that can sling it around like a natural a few games a year.

Even if it is simply "we're just not executing", wouldn't three years of consistently "not executing" still require some introspection that whatever they're trying to execute might not be worth executing if its so difficult that you can't do it 5/6 years?

I've never seen a team so consistently uninspiring on offense continue with the uninspiring offense for so many years. It's mind numbing, and I feel bad for the kids on the team that have so much talent and a stupid game plan doesn't give them the chance to have fun, get involved, and showcase their talent. Sadly, the fans also miss out on seeing the talent showcase itself.

The fans even see these kids up through high school, and they run in these wide open aggressive attacks, they make plays, have fun, get to LSU, two tight ends and a FB.

"So coach, see how good I did in HS running the shot gun with 4 wide? I loved that!"

Les: "I know son, that's why we recruited you, but now I'm going to take away your receivers, put you under Center, and add in two really big tight ends that are basically two extra OL (genius, huh? They'll never see it coming, our little secret *wink). Then you're just going you hand it off to this stud TB we have here most of the time, so we don't need you to throw except once every 5 downs (unless of course mr. stud TB is rolling). "

"But coach, I can throw! Didn't you see me throw?"

Miles:"yeah yeah, but this is the SEC! We smash lines and our running back is a smasher! It's a dragged smash fest in the trenches, that's real football!"

"What if mr.stud TB gets hurt? Or our starting OL?"

Miles: "that's okay, we'll just throw in the backups and keep smashing, we've got plenty to go around"

" Leonard doesn't have a chance"

If those are his words and with all due respect to him, that's a ridiculous claim to make. He is probably one of the top 5 RBs to have played college football in the last 20 years and the guy lead college football in the average of touchdowns per game and Yds per game last season. I'm not sure, but he might even have to lead in yards per carry. It was an embarrassment to the Heisman trophy last season that the guy didn't even get an invite with the kind of numbers he put up for the year.

yea, but the Heisman winner usually needs big moments in big games.

31 yards against Bama, 91 against Arky, 108 against Ole Miss (all double digit loses) doomed his chances, regardless of the monster numbers he put up before then.

It's not a college coach's job to worry about the NFL. Miles gets paid millions of dollars to win games for LSU, period.

Okay, what if I said it this way:

Why does Les rely so much on the talent of an individual whose talent Miles had nothing to do with? Tells me he would rather throw Leonard out into the cold because he's too lazy to out smart anyone. His handling of Fournette contradicts the "players coach" mentality. Also, with all of those underclassmen going to the NFL, I thought Les wanted them to be successful regardless of on field results? Isn't that why so many borderline guys went? We sure could have used a lot of them.

I think the media would love for LF to win the Heisman, LSU is going to have to give them a reason though.

The Heisman is a joke now though. Henry won it last year because he was on the perceived best team.

If LF and Henry traded teams, LF would have won it.

If Henry and McCaffrey traded teams, MC would have won it.

He'd fit in on the rant. This place is a cesspool of football knowledge.

Bad example. Henry had significantly lower YPC than LF last year.

As a result of his carries per game being high, which was a result of Bama's offense always being in control.

Fournette was better than Henry IMO. My point is that Bama ran their offense with the intention of winning a NC. And their running won the Heisman as a byproduct.

If LSU's passing game gets more efficient, Fournettes numbers will only get better. Unless Brandon Harris became Cam Newton in the offseason, Fournette will not suffer from a more efficient quarterback.

LOL, so the 3, 5 and 7 drops should be nixed? Harris was just as erratic from gun and prolly at his best sandlot style, so I guess we just let him wing it every game.

We come from planet 53% Don't Cut It (very large population btw).
I expect him to be much improved for 2016.

It's a loaded field and it's always hard to predict the winner. But no chance? Give me a break

He's not saying "no chance" literally. He wants LSU to be more balanced, and he is saying he thinks inevitably if LSU is more balanced, that Fournette's stats would suffer some, but ultimately LSU overall would be better for it.

The heisman is such a useless award now anyways. Why people still care is probably a result of the espn media train.

If LSU makes the CFP I'd be shocked if Fournette isn't the Heisman winner.

He said during the segment he loves Fournette. Again, a heisman trophy does not validate or invalidate Fournette's abilities. I would bet a lot that if you asked Booger who the top 4 players in CFB are, he would have Fournette in the top 4 for sure.

The context of his actual statement has been completely lost in this thread, which is sad because i thought he was being honest about our shite offensive game plan.

He wasn't being negative at all. He said Leonard won't win the heisman and it will be a good thing. He said he thinks LSU's offense will be more multiple and Guice will take carries away from Fournette and it will lead to less stats but better for the team

This, you obviously actually saw the segment.

Dude Les' teams hold offensive records at LSU. Go back and watch before Les. Have some perspective.

Almost everything you posted is complete bullshite.
