re: Booger McFarland "Fournette has no chance to win the Heisman"

need to throw him the ball more. if he gets 35 or 40 catches instead of the 20~ish he's had before this season, they could drop his carries some without losing his impact on the offense. plus, more easy throws for Harris. same thing with Guice.

Once again, see Alabama. A more diversified offense will cause ypc to go up.
Bad example. Henry had significantly lower YPC than LF last year.

Who cares? Booger is always negative when it comes to LSU.

All due respect to a former LSU great....but Booger is an idiot
Posted on 8/26/16 at 1:25 pm to Solo Cam
Booger is assuming Miles WILL change his offensive philosophy. In the words of Jon Snow. "November is coming".
Posted on 8/26/16 at 1:25 pm to Solo Cam
His reasoning is right but shouldn't have said with such a hot take.

Even IF Miles were to become suddenly more balanced, and assuming they even more so limit LF7's carries to keep him fresh, I don't see him getting any less carries than or having any less chance at the trophy than Ingram, Richardson & Henry have had recently.

Almost made a thread myself. Spears and Booger are just echoing what almost all of us have seen far too much of...a predictable running game carried by physical talent coupled with a terribly planned and putrid passing game that never had a chance to succeed.
The Only ones who don't admit this on this entire board are beefense, rickdaddy and graytiger. Since they're insane, and think they know better than Spears and Booger, they can be excluded from calculations.
They said exactly what i would say. Idc if Fournette wins the heisman, I want a balanced attack and a LOT more from the passing game. Fournette will get his due, and the heisman is so un-interesting now anyways. I think Fournette's job can become SO much easier with a more balanced and effective attack. Besides, why let him get all beat up before the NFL?
We all know miles is not imaginative enough to change things and Fournette is most likely going to be bashing his head into a wall of defenders every game over 20 times a game.
Then again, Cam Cameron could change a lot.... He's our last hope... But it's a small chance, and I am not looking forward to what I'm going to see offensively.

well at one point like halfway into last year he was the runaway winner where there was nobody close and he didn't even get invited to NY, right?
The Heisman winner usually also needs big moments in big games. Late in the year, Fournette went for:
31 against Bama
91 against Arky
108 against Ole Miss
all were double digit losses.
Not saying those were his fault - Fournette is phenomenal - just that those games (especially late in the year) are impossible to overcome with Heisman voters.

Boogers right.
Deshaun Watson has already won it.
The Housman ain't what LF is after

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who played in Tiger Stadium at the level he did has the right to say any damn thing he pleases about LSU.

It's not a college coach's job to worry about the NFL. Miles gets paid millions of dollars to win games for LSU, period.
Now Les may spread the carries around with Guice, but he'd do that to keep Fournette fresh ........ to win games for LSU. Not to preserve his NFL career.

Heisman is becoming like the Miss USA Contest. All fluff and popularity before talent.
Posted on 8/26/16 at 2:18 pm to atltiger6487
Harris is ready. He's healthy again. He's Put on 20lbs and has a good feel of Cameron's offense. Miles is much more confident in him so we should see more balance. LF won't get the carries but I'm betting he gets close to the same touches. Les immediately said he finds it hard to not give him the ball when asked if he would scale back on the radio show

Harris missed some easy wide open targets and only 56% on 1st down won't cut it. That should be 70%+.
Pretty evident when LSU passed a lot it didn't go well and it isn't as simple as just calling more passes.

Win and win... Fournette for the SHIP!! Let awards come after...
Posted on 8/26/16 at 2:50 pm to Solo Cam
Heisman voters will be looking for any reason to not vote for Fournette. So, Booger is probably right, but for the wrong reason. Fournette had fewer carries per game than last year's Heisman winner. So taking carries away from Fournette is not necessarily a good idea for LSU's offense. Thankfully, Les has said Fournette will get as many carries as last year.

I mean, I would take Booger's scenario over any thing else.
Both would be amazing.
