Biggest improvement from a player in a single season

As in a player who was bad, average, or decent. . .and a season later balled the hell out.
Who you got?
I have to go with D-Bowe after Lasic
or Josh Reed after the position change, but that feels like cheating since he didn't improve at the same position.

Fournette went from a good freshman season to GOAT in one season.
Not in a single season, but the greatest shocker in LSU football history is that Danny McCray is still in the NFL. I used to curse his name every time he would get a long bomb thrown over his head.

Demertrius Hookfin went from maybe the worst coverage player on the worst passing defense in the NCAA in 2000 to a legit starter by 2002 on a very good defense.
Corey Webster went from a nothing WR to an All-American DB in two years...again, though, citing position change.

That's a good one.
Kevin Minter went from a situational player splitting time at MLB in 2011 to an All American beast in 2012.

Update the OP to clarify if this is a thread about a particular sport.
If it is for all sports, my easy vote is Tim Quartermann.
His development from Fr to So year was the biggest leap I've seen from a bball player since I've been watching LSU (started in early 80s).

Kelvin Sheppard made a pretty big improvement. I think between his sophomore and junior seasons. Mettenberger was pretty average as a junior and then great as a senior.
Patrick Fisher, the 2007 punter, had a great senior season.
I'd say Lewis Neal made a very big improvement this year.

Geert Hammink was a stiff when he got to LSU. He was selected in the 1st round of NBA draft when he left

Debo this season.
Bennie Logan in 2011.

Webster actually made some plays as a true freshmen wide receiver. Pretty sick athlete.

Good one, I also thought Quarterman from first to second year was a significant improvement.

Micheal Brockers went from a spot player to a first round pick.

One that I think most would forget was Craig Steltz, who went from a reserve in 2006 (only 2 starts) to being 1st Team All-American in 2007.

Football could be JL or Beckwith.

Definitely not saying he wasn't an athlete, but on a team with Reed, Clayton and Myers, his opportunities were few and far between. Definitely a great move turning him in a CB. Seems like position changes were much more common back then...

DJ Welter. Laugh all you want but he came from a good HS player to starting in the SEC.

Minter comes to mind for me.
Also whoever mentioned Craig steltz - he improved tremendously for his senior year

With this thread being dominated by football picks so far, I hope everyone realizes this goes against the Rant's mantra that Miles can't coach or develop players properly.
