No need to rehash the debacle on Jan. 9th but based on that, it's a valid question. Especially from a Bama writer.

What is this debacle on Jan. 9th? What happened?

When LSU loses their next game, it will be because of 1/9/12. That's what you are being set up for, and that is utterly stupid.

What part of "NOBODY knows" do you not understand? If we come out flat who knows what the reasons are?

Wait, wait. ......wait....

Are you insinuating that if LSU comes out flat vs. North Texas.......

It could possibly be because of 1/9? (whatever happened on that date)

I didn't read this entire thread, so pardon my curiosity.

What he wrote was all true, every sentence. No, he doesn't owe us a mention of Utah or any other Bama loss. It's simply up to the Tigers to slam shut the door on 1/9 this season, one game at a time.

This combined with the numerous times that Les and the coaches told us that Jefferson was improving after spring and fall practices is why I shoot down any statement made to the effect of "and you think you know the team better than the coaches".You have to be smart enough to be able to separate political statements from actual football statements.
And fact from fiction.

2010 JJ=56.5%, 6.8ypa

Coaches indicated improvement and you would disagree below is improvement?

2011 JJ=61%, 7.4ypa
Note that:
40/100 attempts were vs top 5 D.
27/100 attempts were vs #1 D.

JJ vs all other competition was 39/60 or 65%cr,and 9.78ypa.

Duh, then so have we.
That is why it was a stupid question phrased unprofessionally.

Let them write what they want to write.

When Bama went undefeated and lost to Florida in the SEC title game and then to Utah, it wasnt the end of their program.

That Bama team came back stronger and won it all.

The best thing that happened for LSU for this season is to have lost that game. The focus will be there all season because of that loss on 1/9. LSU will not allow anyone to take their championship away and LSU will be the first to repeat as SEC champs since the 1990's.

Geaux Tigers.

That's the way it should be. My favorite game is 97 LSU/UF. The question is...does UF really care about that game, the Fiesta game with NU, etc. Does UA really care about choking a 24 point lead in 2010 IB? The list goes on and on.

This.

I'm not saying the Tigers have been eternally damned to futility because of that horrible, horrible beating so everyone needs to lighten up a bit.

Just come out next season and week by week take care of business and the horrible, disgusting memory of 1/9 will receed.

To me, 1/9/12 is LSU football equivilant of "a day that will live in infamy." It'll never be forgotten......ever! And it shouldn't be. They should use that as fuel for wins.

I have seen bad losses make teams quit all the time. We did it to Miami and Notre dame, Ohio state. Bama did it to Texas and ran urban Meyer out of the conference.

I have high hopes but lets not pretend it couldn't happen to us. I don't think it will, just to be clear

He'll get his answer on 11/3/12.

My question: how could a team that couldn't cross the 50 yd line ever beat Bama on their home field?

Where do you guys get this stuff?
LSU drove from their 35 to around Bama's 30 in the 4th, where a sack and fumble ended it.
It was a bad performance, but if you're AlwayATgr, you shouldn't fabricate shite to dis your team.
You shouldn't have to since there were plenty enough true examples to chose from.

Yeah but the stink of that Jan. 9th bomb could last a while. That's what the writer is asking and it's valid.

that's a loser mentality. The only thing that matters in anyone's life is today forward. it's the only thing they can control. The past has nothing to do with what you decide to do today or the future. You make your future.

an event in the past has no bearing on what you decide to do or how you behave in the future. the future is a concious choice by all.

When you think about the n.c. or a football season, outside of b.r., alabama, ect. who the hell gives a crap about what your team did last year? who cares how many n.c. bama has outside of bama? it's really silly when you think about it. We won 12 n.c.'s, who really cares? you didn't play, you weren't a fan for all of them, and in the big scope of things, no one cares. you think someone in new york, chicago, l.a., care about the n.c. game last year? is that all you have? is that what completes you?

I was in church in alabama this summer. The priest was talking about sports and the excitment and spirit the fan's have. He talked about how christians really should have that same passion for Jesus. He said, how long does that excitement last? a week, a day, a month? eventually it fades. Then you move on to another year.

then he made a joke about alabama. (he was a gotor fan) he said, unless your an alabama fan, but we won a n.c. in 1942, 1951, 1963, and on and on and on.

i got it. the funiest part to me was the bama fan behind me replying. but we really did, we really did.

From the quote in the OP about "rediscovering the 50 yd line." Maybe I should've been more precise in my verbiage?
