The sort of homerism exemplified by this "journalist" is yet another reason why the SEC offices should have long ago been moved from B'ham.
It's truly puzzling how a conference whihc has enjooyed so much success could continue to endure this type of counterproductive, embarrassing anachronism.
Consider Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Memphis or New Orleans and get out of that Alabama backwater...

So the morning of January 9, 2012 when Les Miles told us his team was prepared, you bought it like the rest of us. But the difference is you still buy it.

Did you buy it the Saturday mornings prior to the previous 13 games?

Will you ever get over it?

The Bham writer is targeting people like you. And loving it.

These Bama fans are so retarded about that game.

Yes LSU got dominated. But it was one freaking game. It wasn't a program destroying loss.

Idiots. Doesnt mean shite anymore, that was 6 months ago.

This stupid, douche bag "sports writer" obviously doesn't have a clue as to the mind set of the LSU football team. If he were to actually do his job and investigare the mind set on our team he would know that they are ready to start the 2012 season kick some arse.
There's nothing inaccurate or even remotely 'stupid' about what he wrote.

Well, now that Utah loss in the Sugar Bowl after the '08 season hovered over them all during the 2009 season.

Wait a minute?

It's coaches speak. That's what they say. That's my point. The team may be over it, but NOBODY, even the coaches, won't know until they get on the field. And if they don't preform, who's to say it's a lingering affect from the NC game?

I been over it since January 10.

100% INCORRECT! They're targeting two types of people, those who view the world through crimson and white glasses and those who view the world through purple and gold glasses. I wear neither.

Using your logic the Bama writer and their fans are correct and that game set us back 20 yrs and we'll be lucky to go 5-7. Why don't you just wave a white flag ?
No, it doesn't.

It means 'how are the LSU players going to respond?' It's a legitimate question, you just read it through the eyes of an LSU homer, fair enough.

But I think it's a fair observation to say- Is LSU going to take what happened and use it as motivation, or are they going to doubt themselves or have internal conflicts on the team about what happened that night.

Personally of course I think they are going to use it as motivation and destroy everthing in their path. But a Bama writer is not going to say that, deal with it.

Lets just skullfrick everyone in our path to miami, then skullfrick USC or whoever wants to play us. I am sick of all the negativity around here. It's the past. Lets make that our motivation to destroy everyone this year.

Nothin would be more satisfying than winning every game by 10+, beating Alabama 21-0, and beating USC in the championship 55-10

This is so awesome. Mark my words:

When LSU loses their next game, it will be because of 1/9/12. That's what you are being set up for, and that is utterly stupid.

"So the morning of January 9, 2012 when Les Miles told us his team was prepared, you bought it like the rest of us. But the difference is you still buy it"

This combined with the numerous times that Les and the coaches told us that Jefferson was improving after spring and fall practices is why I shoot down any statement made to the effect of "and you think you know the team better than the coaches". You have to be smart enough to be able to separate political statements from actual football statements.

It's projection, psychologically speaking, of the fainthearted, which is a primary characteristic of the bandwagon types, for UA the ones who went into hibernation after 11/5 or subsisted on "Williams got robbed" or "they didn't win, we lost". Let's ask this: If blogosphere were as common and popular in the last century, would TR be 'The Best LSU site'? or would it have been a ghost town. For those that suffered through those times and remained faithful the OP question is non-sensical...but for those that didn't it's bothersome. If UA slides these types will slither away, just like Cane's, ND, or any other program fair weather fans (including LSU). That's just the way things are. Success cures everything, this is a fact. If the club starts going 7-5, 8-4 on a continuous basis the first ones to go will be the ones fixated on 1/9. Me, I watched a once proud program basically become Wyoming over a 10 year process. I'm optimistic that over the next 5 years the silliness of this current talk will be self-evident. If the success isn't there, well I've seen worse, much worse.
