Best place to sit in stadium

I'd like some opinions on where the best place to sit for the money is (if that makes sense). We're looking to fly into town for the UF game this year and this would only be our second game in the stadium ever. A couple of years ago, we went to the Kentucky game and sat in section 401 with tickets given to us by a friend. It was great to finally watch a game IN the stadium, but that section was a little sedate (far from the band, etc). We're definitely the types that like to stand/cheer/get into the game. Does this mean we need to be in the lower bowl or are the uppers fine?
Also, considering we're flying in from VA and want to know we have seats, how close to the game should we wait to buy tickets and is it best to keep an eye on the ticket exchange board here or should I just bite the bullet and buy from Stub Hub?

Depends on what type of fan you are.

There's nothing like being in the student section as a student. For regular seats, I like the lower bowl, high up enough that you can see the action at both ends of the field.

Wait so you are looking to go to a game that you don't have tickets for, which is sold out, for a highly anticipated SEC matchup and you want to hand pick the best section? Good luck buddy.
I suggest when you see a decent section that's not in the end zone or in the upper tier grab them.

You don't need to have 50 yd line tickets down on the field to have a good time or a great seat. That being said, I would avoid the upper decks if you want to really take in the crowd noise and band.
Personally I like to sit in a corner somewhere between the 10 yd line and goal line. My family has tickets on the mid level deck that wraps around the south end zone, and I really like the viewing angle.
Also if you want something rowdier I would sit as close to the North end zone as possible.

Wow. No need to be a dick to this guy. Sounds like he just wanted suggestions on getting tickets that are the best value.
Sure the game is "sold out," but he should be able to easily score some nice seats on ticket exchange or stub hub.

I would say, it really depends on what you are looking for in the experience...if you want to be immersed in crowd energy, then your best bet is probably something in one of the endzones...
if you want to be able to see every inch of the field with crowd noise bieng secondary, then the front of the west upper deck (tiger terrace) would be the place for you...
if you want both, then something mid field and mid way up in the lower bowl would be good...
now, the lower bowl tickets along the sidelines will cost a damn fortune, because LSU sells them for a fortune...
another consideration is that the game will likely be a day game, so you may want to try to get something on the west side (sun at your back)...
as far as where to get tickets...that is totally a matter of preference...I personally don't have a lot of nerve, so I would likely get something off stubhub just to lock up the deal...but that you can certainly save some cash by taking a little risk and waiting or getting from somewhere else...

Tiger Terrace (500's). It's the 1st couple rows of the uppers decks. Game will be @ 2:30 so you should try and get west side to avoid the sun.

my favorite seats in all of the stadium...pretty high dollar for upper deck, though...

My son and I found tickets on gameday for Bama last year. Lower bowl in the section just across the aisle from the student section. While vulgar for an 11 year old- shhhh don't tell his mom because we didn't- the atmosphere was unreal! I would recommend it- I would say we may have been on the 15-20 yardline.

I agree with most. I've always sat in the upper decks which are good for watching the entire field, but 2 years ago say in the lower bowl mid field. There just isn't any comparison as far as atmosphere goes. Depends on what your looking for.

I had someone give me a Ticket on the 50 Yard Line on the East Side about 13 Rows up and it was terrible. I could barely see over the Visiting Team Heads. I do not see how the people down lower ever see anything?

for the view probably somewhere in the gold seats
energizing experience would be in the student section. (note not going to do much sitting there)

The old Tiger Band seats from years ago on the west sideline at the upper limits of the original bowl between the 15-30 yard lines.

Grandparents had 4 season tickets on that spot, took in a lot of games as a young tiger there. Even won the lucky seat prize (do they still do that, I now live out of state) circa 1992.

in the early 70's Tiger Band sat on the west side about 25 rows up starting at about the north 40 yard line...
