Seems close. Antetokounmpo might be a better blocker though

what scary is Ben is a more explosive athlete. But similar body profiles for sure minus the wingspan. Greek has like a 7'5" wingspan

Took until he was 24-25 and isn't an elite shooter just better than average, although that's really valuable when he can also dribble, pass, and defend 5 positions.

Who's a NBA player who always puts up big stats but it doesn't matter because his team loses anyway?

See I think Giannis is a more explosive athlete, while Simmons is smoother and more physical. Plus, Simmons basketball IQ is ahead of Giannis so the game comes slower to him.

But yeah I think it's a solid comparison. But I do think Giannis plays more like a perimeter player than Simmons does, at this point at least. They are both very good in open court and have rare handles and vision / passing ability for guys their size. But Giannis looks more natural / comfortable on the perimeter in a half court offense while Simmons looks more comfortable at the high post or the block in a had court offense. But skill set wise, they are pretty similar.

By the way... Have you seen Giannis stats lately? 4 triple doubles in the last 11 games and averaging 19.3ppg, 9rebs, and 6.7assists while shooting almost 50% from the field in his last 20 games. And he just turned 21 in December. Kids gonna be so good in the future.

Yeah, I think Giannis is more explosive and Ben is more fluid.

Lamar Odom 2.0

If he gets with a big who can score BS will be a terror in high low sets

He needs to learn the 15-18 ft elbow jumper

Yea I don't really care for the comparison. Just not really gonna be the same type of player at all imo

He's very much like Odom. There are a lot of players right now that Simmons is similar to, mostly foreign guys who are fluid and skilled. You posters who are implying Simmons can't shoot are so clueless. Simmons has a nice shot and can fill it up.

All these guys you are comparing him to can shoot the rock, without a jump shot his playing time in the NBA will be limited no matter how much they pay him.

Odom had OK handles but was more of a half court ball handler. Simmons is more a full court end-to-end handler. They are pretty different.

As for Giannis vs Ben athleticism, i just feel Ben has another gear with the ball. As leapers, they are pretty similar. Giannis' 7'4" wingspan is a difference maker but i dont consider that part of his athleticism. Simmons has a wing span that matches his height.
