I hope that the Simmons family realizes that the few jackasses on this site don't represent the majority of LSU fans. He chose to play for LSU and he is a Tiger. We had another "superstar" while I was attending LSU and I'm glad that we didn't have a format where every turncoat MFer could express their opinions when he had a miserable night at the free-throw line. I wonder what you people would be saying about Shaq if he were playing at LSU right now?? We thought that LSU would win a NC when we had Shaq, Stanley, and Jackson on the same team. It didn't happen. This isn't knock on Simmons but ask yourself this question...What would this years team look like if you replaced Simmons with Shaq? We give up easy inside shots and allow way too many offensive rebounds. What did Shaq do better than any one in college? He blocked shots, protected the goal, and limited second chance shots. Two great players with different skill-sets. One more dominant in the college game where players haven't reached their physical peaks.

There is one consistent factor between this team and the Shaq years. CJJ learned from Dale Brown so why would we expect different results? It's on the coach to leverage his team's strengths against the opposing teams weakness. CJJ can't do that just like Dale couldn't do that. I guarantee that I'm as frustrated as anyone and days like yesterday are like a fricking punch in the stomach. Everyone has a choice when it comes to the content that you post on a public forum. You can make a choice to keep your negative BS comments to yourself. You can also make a choice to attack the player, the coach, and the administration.

Being one of the guys who (publicly) predicted Simmons downfall doesn't make you special. It makes you a sellout and shitty LSU fan. If you feel the need to attack the kid, go up to his father during a game and talk the shite that you do on this website. If you insist on being that type of "fan" go ahead and attack the coach. Leave the kid alone...

Nobody questions his talent, just his demeanor. He doesn't play like its his last season at LSU.

Over-rated. No motor. Free throws? Lack of concentration.

I swear some of these idiots on here get more joy out of LSU losing so they can be the first to come on here and say I told you you so after a loss. It drives me crazy.

Whatever happens this season, I'd hope that the kid leaves with a positive opinion of LSU and the time that he spent as a Tiger. The rest of the nation can call him overrated and that will either motivate him to play better or lose confidence in his game. He should count on support from the LSU fanbase. I hope he realizes that anyone can buy Purple & Gold but that doesn't make them a true fan of LSU. I'm hoping that he (and his parents) don't read the negative BS coming from our fanbase. It's embarrassing and only hurts LSU.

Thanks SL Tiger. I'm glad someone said this. I too wish that he would be more aggressive offensively, but JJ has to take a lot of the blame for that. He's had the whole season to address it.

I'm so tired of these "rantard" opinions screaming that he is over rated. They apparently know more than the consensus of experts who recognize his other worldly talents and have him as the #1 pick.

Too passive. No killer instinct. It grates on me when TV commentators carry on and on about how great Ben is but in several games this year he was not the best player on the floor, much less being the best player in college basketball.

I would take Buddy Hield over Ben in a New York minute, as well as No. 32 from Alabama who was unstoppable in LSU's home game against Bama last week. I think Simmons has a long way to go before he is the greatest player in college BB.

Keep your sorry arse in Winnfield baw. Lemme tell you something Buddy Heild said he would take OU over LSU just like Obasahan says Roll Tide. This kid chose us and you feel the need to shite on him. Yeah somethings up, but when you're an alum you just don't spew this type of crap. Oh wait lemme guess you've never been on campus other then to attend a sporting event. Post less arse hat

Me too. As fans, we have the easy task...just support the team. I say "we" because (unfortunately) the idiots have an impact on the entire fanbase. Expressing negative bullshite is an individual decision to "sellout" before seeing the final outcome. It's OK for the fans to quit on the team but we expect the players NOT to quit on the team. If our players jumped on and off of the bandwagon like our fans do...we would be completely fricked.

It's not like he's being booed at home games. People are just calling it like they see it, and this is the forum on which it's done.

You feel better???? Ben has been a huge disappointment based on all the hype. He take to many mins off during games. Y'all can praise him all you want. I am more pissed about the lack of effort from the whole team and Ben is included in that. If this guy was that good he would take over the game Shen it matters. He does not do this.

And that's why the guy who believes this wouldn't make it as an NBA GM. I'll bet any amount of money that Ben Simmons has a greater impact on the NBA, in his first 5 years, than Buddy Hield. It's about matchups in the NBA and I assure you that they have players who can defend Buddy. In fact, put Buddy 1-1 against Simmons for an entire NBA season and let's see how that plays out. With proper coaching, Simmons would take Buddy to the woodshed more often than not.

You are so dense... There are plenty LSU alum that feel like I do that he doesn't give a total effort the whole game.. He has zero outside shot. He takes time off while on the offensive end and I believe he has mailed it in... I don't care where he is drafted. I just want EFFORT the whole time he is playing for LSU..........

Yep...I do feel better. Did you see anything resembling ME praising Simmons? We had unrealistic expectations for a kid who doesn't have the physical presence of a Shaq O'Neal or the offensive game of Chris Jackson. Maybe his lack of effort has something to do with a loss of confidence. He's a kid...facing pressure which none of us have ever experienced. But we chose to attack him when he doesn't perform the way WE expect. If he was your kid...How would you feel about the bullshite that is being posted about him?

He may become one of greatest p[layers in NBA (although I doubt it if he doesn't improve drastically) but he did not help LSU basketball team as much as it was expected and he plays like a true freshman.
