So its ALL JJ's fault???? Sure he not that good of a coach but he is NOT hindering Ben ON THE COURT. Ben does that himself..... Blaming JJ is a copout......

I agree with this......

I have NEVER attacked Ben.. Except for EFFORT.. I am attacking the fans that are blind thinking this KID is the next Magic.... Its crazy... He still has to mature and he may end up being a great pro... But I don't care about that... I want A better EVERY GAME effort from a KID that is getting a free ride to school...

Me too. As fans, we have the easy task...just support the team.

That's the whole problem, this isn't a "team", and it's not Ben Simmons' fault. It's the fault of this one-and-done system we have where kids come in, play for one year as a true freshman, and then are gone. What does a freshman know about a "team"?

If our players jumped on and off of the bandwagon

That's exactly what the players do when they leave school after less than a year. This is supposed to be about college basketball, not NBA farm organizations. They need to either make a minor league, and/or just let kids play with no college experience.

frick the NBA, they've ruined college basketball.

Hey, TommyDeTiger, my opinion is as good as yours. This is a discussion forum, right? My opinion is that this LSU BB team is not very good, their record would be about what it is now without Ben Simmons, and that this years team shows the fallacy of building a team around the expectations of one player.

I think college teams would be better off in football and basketball if they built their teams around solid, smart, hardworking blue-collar types that are likely to stay 4 or 5 years and build a team cohesiveness and want-to-win attitude. Teams like Stanford and Wisconsin come to mind.

Over-rated and Over-hyped are 2 different animals. Under LSU's system & the impact he was expected to make was over-hyped. But his skill set is undeniable. I'll take an NBA scouts opinion on a players skill over any casual fans opinion. This system & surrounding cast just didn't compliment his game. For the record though, I honestly don't think this young man cares about LSU and what happens going forward. This is not a knock on him. I'm looking forward to see how he does in his NBA career.

It's guys like him and Peej who never went to LSU but know everything because their arse hat existence revolves around LSU athletics simply because they were born in the this state. Hey Peej

I'm a graduate of a Louisiana university that is not LSU. I've been an LSU fan my whole life. Simply attending LSU doesn't make you any better than me, nor does it give your opinion any more weight or validity. You and your superior attitude can go kick rocks.

I think he's a little hurt and young. Dude has been on championship teams for several years. It's a culture shock to come to such a crappy program

I graduated from SLU. I'm not ashamed of that at all. Where I graduated from specifically wasn't the point, and you know that.

I'm not sure but I suspect that it's more than you believe. I'll put a different twist on the misery that frequents this board. Your sentence structure, while clear enough to understand the question, would normally be attacked for grammatical error. I see it constantly on TR and it makes me wonder why a person would do that. My point is that the type of person who would attack your grammar is probably the same loser who quits on LSU. That's the mentality of this board. Attack others so you don't feel so miserable in your own life. Attack a player on our team because it makes you feel better.

Raise your hand if you had life figured out at 19. I know I didn't and I don't expect that Ben Simmons does. He's a kid and he doesn't deserve the criticism. If anyone wants to attack me for taking up for him...frick you! I'm not doing it for attention or to be a hero, I'm doing it because I have kids and it bothers me.

How many SLU hoops games did you attend or watch this year

Just always wondered why people don't follow THEIR school. If you love LSU so much why didn't you go there

Class of Dec. '88 Peej. And the way you throw around the word uneducated makes me think you have something against people that didn't graduate college. That's why you get so angry every time you look in the mirror

I represent myself and it doesn't matter how many people are on my side. People who use a website to attack a kid are cowards. It's as simple as that.

Who is responsible for the team on the court? If Ben is freelancing, that would be JJ's problem to fix. If the team isn't hitting free throws, that would be JJ's problem to fix. If JJ understands basketball strategy, he should devise a scheme that leverages his talent. If he can't do that, I suspect that LSU will eventually find someone who can.

We're just commenting on what we see on the court. Some of us aren't blind homers and can see things clearly and aren't afraid to voice our opinion, even if it's negative. It's really that simple.

Even though it's none of your business, it's called life circumstances. I was going to school and working to help support my younger brother and single mother. I had to be close to home.
