Thank you sir!

Section 652 (via TAF)
Row 17
Seat 17 and 18
-$600

Section 101 (via TicketCity)
Row 17
3 Seats
-$4,994

Makes me wonder, should I give to the school, to the ticketbroker or both?

I'll have 15 points in 2012 at the rate I'm going.... I'm a LONG way from qualifying for tickets.... oh well - I usually buy them game by game for less than the total cost of owning them through TAF is anyway.... but it does shut me out of the ticket allocation for bowls, etc.

Also if you only give $100 a year for the 3 point bonus you're just treading water with the average Joe since a lot of people give just the $100 if at all.

Gave you seat location in the email? Just talked to LSU and the guy said the emails will be going out tomorrow and seat location will not be on the notification email. Just notifying you that you have tickets, or not.

Of course the guy seemed a little lost with some of my questions.

Starting to get a little concerned that they may have not even received my request.

Got the TAF answer to my question:

"Points resulting from donations are calculated and applied as of the date that donations are received. Pledges, testamentary gifts and other promises of future gifts are not considered in priority point calculations until funds are actually received."

May be pricing policies on MOM... LOL --- all Grandparents are deceased so no luck there.... any acctuaries out there - I need to run some numbers... and update my mother's Will....

Here's what it would take to get to Bayou Bengal's 5456.

25 years of being a TAF member & giving $66/yr, OR
9 years of TAF & giving $100/yr, OR
6 years of TAF & giving $1,000/yr, OR
2 years of TAF & giving $5,000/yr, OR
Give $10,000+ in one year.

$10K = 32 points per year.
$25k = 67 points per year.

Basically, you need to keep giving $100/yr at a minimum to get the bonus points and keep pace.
5 years at $100 = 1 year at $5,000.

I am sure a lot of people just say screw it, instead of giving $5,000 grand to be in the ticket allocation they can get tickets on the secondary market for the same amount and most likely better tickets.

Agreed -- somewhat -- a lot of season ticket holders don't give anything beyond their Tradition Fund...

I give more to the LSU Foundation... which only nets me 0.25 PP per $1000 -- but I'm not just giving to LSU to get football tickets.... I'm giving to the Departments and Colleges that I attended and graduated from... they have more to do with my career success than LSU Football....

but, yeah... I wish I had thrown a $100 bone into TAF each year since the PP system started... that would be about 45 points at 3 per year... but I didn't think about it that way and have donated about $10K to Flagship fund, College of Business building fund, and other scholarship funds that I was the recipient of while in undergraduate school.

Oh well - I wasn't in it for the benefits on the tail end... more "giving something back" ... I suppose some say "you lose" but that's ok.

It was a joke in my case... but based on the ethics of some folks... I wouldn't put it past them and they might "help" Momma along on her way.... just sayin'

I'm not cheering for my mother to die so i can get LSU football tickets... not to worry.

Okay, man. It didn't have enough tongue in the cheek to know if you were kidding.
