Haven't read this whole thread so excuse me if it's been said, but to everyone who says "just win" there's a flaw in that thinking. If we beat Bama and move to number one, we will probably get them again, like last year. If we lose and win out, there's not much chance of having the same chance

This game will be no different from last season's. Closely contested game going down to the last play, both teams have too many athletes that off set each other. LSU in last season's title game would have had a chance to win again if it had manufactured some offense. Alabama was held to five FG's before scoring that last and only TD on a dog tired LSU defense that quit and let Richardson bounce outside and score.

no reason to think this one will be any different!

I don't think that happens this season because some other team will go unbeaten like Oklahoma St. should have gone last season.

Exactly, what more could you ask for. We get to play the team.

We will have to beat bama twice if we want another crystal. No ifs ands or buts about it. I didn't even think it was a question anymore.

Well, if that's the case. Let the roles be reversed this year. Let them win the first game and go through the SECCG and all that while LSU sits back and prepares to destroy them in the second game.

In all fairness, Alabama has played better competition than LSU. Period.

You put a period, then wrote out the word period, then followed that with a period. Make up your mind, man.

Lost half our db depth in the off season to "attrition", but some players just left over the bad taste. Several key contributors can't get qualified and our best player is kicked off the team. Yeah, I am a shallow a-hole and wish matheiu would have never been kicked off and our players qualified. It's a bunch of B.S. the university makes millions, the coaches make millions and are under tremendous presure to win and put butts in the seats. That pressure is then on the players to produce. Yeah, I am mad. I do believe the players should get more breaks, don't give me the scholly bs either.

Give me a fricking break. The country doesn't want a rematch. That goes for both teams.

Isn't it amazing that our season depended less on our own play and more on another team. If Okie St. wins a close one after a tragedy we get to be NC. Since they didn't well here we are.

I don't get why people keep saying this because last year it wasn't even enough to beat them at BDS. Someone else needs to go undefeated or Bama needs to lose to someone else.

If the team stays focused on the next opponent, I see LSU at 8-0 going into Nov. 3rd.

At that point, whoever loses will be out of the hunt if anybody else from a major conference ends up undefeated.

FIFY

Only ones with a big enough rep to overcome Bama who will probably drop no less than #3 with a loss. And that is a huge if.

Forget all these what if senerios. The season is very young and the landscape changes frequently. Just this past friday ESPN was pushing USC for the championship. Now they are making excuses for them.

The season is long and it is not a foregone conclusion that any SEC team makes it to the NCG.

LSU can only control what LSU does. I hope the team is focusing on Auburn right now and not a game well over a month away.

who cares if they say it is not even close? We will creep closer when we keep winning as we approach Nov 3rd.

The national media does not want Bama vs LSU again in the NC game. So they are going to make it like a race for #2

and to be honest we have not played anybody yet I like being under the radar

I completely agree. There's no need to be a homer. If you disagree, ask yourself if you were wrong in your prediction for the BCS Championship. We got our behinds kicked. We still have obvious holes on offense, and our defense is nowhere near as stout.

If we expect to win that game we are going to need to step it up on both sides of the ball.
