Charles, I think 95% of the "backlash" is more because no one wants to see a repeat of the anemic QB play we suffered through last year, and most feel like Harris is our only real hope for improvement. To hear that Jennings is looking better than him is pretty depressing, considering that AJ was as bad or worse at the end of the 2014 season as he was at the end of the 2013 season. I'm pretty sure from reading your past posts you can't be excited about the real likelihood we will end up with another 8-5 season unless that position is upgraded.

A lot of fans just fail to appreciate how hard it is to find a good college level QB, especially one that can play in this pressure cooker of a conference.

People look at an outlier like Ohio State last season

Where did Aj rank in the SEC last season?

Is halfway through spring practice the time to do that?

I think halfway through last year was time enough to do that.

There isn't a systematic problem.

I'll disagree.

The bar isn't that high to be an average SEC QB.

Blake Sims is someone that people like to bring up on here. Well it took him 5 years in the system before he could run it effectively. That may be the time window we're dealing with here.

God, this is so misleading.

Blake Sims was moved to QB, he didn't have 5 years in the system as a QB.

And the "system" was a brand new one - Lane Kiffin was in his first year as OC at Bama last year.

A close friend's uncle is in the upper ranks of Byrd, and he was of the opinion that BH was not a world beater. I was damn sure hoping he was wrong .

Our fans aren't even requiring good QB play, if we can get a guy that can be in the middle of the pack in the SEC, I will be happy. That's how sad this has become. Another 4-5 loss season and Miles' seat will start getting warm.

Byrd has upper ranks?

Does this mean he was in 12th grade?

Wow.

Alabama, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, Missouri, A&M, Georgia, and Arky all say hi.

The best coaches will adjust schemes/styles based on the talent they have and what that talent is good at doing for the best overall results.

That's so easy to say.
The truth is that the norm is young QBs struggling.

Oh, don't get me wrong, that's true. But with our QBs in the last 5 years, it hasn't really mattered if they were true freshman or seniors.

Ohio State won the NC with a 3rd-string sophomore. They were led by a redshirt freshman at QB most of the season before he got hurt. FSU won the NC the year before that with Winston in his redshirt freshman year. Bama won it all before that with AJ McCarron as a redshirt sophomore and again in his junior year. So while most young QBs do struggle, the programs loaded with talent can usually at least field a QB that makes the offense look decent.

When Auburn's QB was suspended for the 1st half of the 1st game last year against Arkansas, Auburn's true sophomore QB threw for more yards (243) in 1 half than any QB on our roster threw for an entire game last year. I'm just saying that with all the talent we have on O, our passing game should not look so hopeless at times.

He was in a few football and administrative leadership positions . . . don't think he's there any more. Is that clarified for you?

Maybe the light will come on for AJ this year. I always have a sliver of hope.

At some point, yes. But Harris has also only been on the team for a year. Give it some time in terms of development.

odd, because none of the VIDEOS bare your analysis. They show quite the opposite.

What videos? Not challenging just curious. Would love to see vids of brandon lighting it up. All I've seen is the TD pass to Chark from the scrimmage before last.

Dak Prescott is the only QB out of all of those schools that LSU fans would be happy with.

Any of those other guys and you guys would be ripping them apart too.
