There may be a couple of kids in any recruiting class that can play that style relatively well on a college level.
So why dont we recruit these type of players ?

Blake Sims is someone that people like to bring up on here. Well it took him 5 years in the system before he could run it effectively. That may be the time window we're dealing with here. I don't think BH will take that long but it may be at least another year.
How are you sure Sims couldn't have been effective in 2012 or 2013?

Uhhhh, yeah. And Alabama had enough talent in front of him to conceal his inefficiencies.
It's called depth and development. And that is why saban is not in the predicament that miles is always getting himself into.
We get it, Harris is not ready. But are you saying that it's okay to accept 8-4 again until Harris is a junior? Hell no.
Miles/cam should have the most important position on the field ready to go.......to win games and maybe be in the discussion for a conference title again.

It takes time. He's a handful of practices in from last year. This doesn't concern me. Harris will continue to improve.

Even if Harris had a bad scrimmage his first 2 went just fine.
Mauck had a bad practice or two in his day, we ended up alright.

Blake Simms had 1 year in the system, not 5. Do people not realize they had a brand new coordinator this year?

While we wait for QB to come along who can run the offense we hope that tge defense can hold teams to zero points per game to insure a few wins.but we do know we have the most tallented Qb in there who can hand the ball off.

So b/c he sat behind a guy that won 2 national championships, a 109 yard FG kick return from his 3rd in a row, runner-up Heisman, and Alabama's career and season passing leader, you assume Sims did not know how to run the offense effectively?
This pro-style excuse is just stupid. over 50% of our offense requires absolutely no work by the QB. Of the other 50% we are passing, we rarely have more than 3 guys go out for a pass, if even that many. It's not that difficult of an offense to grasp.
Our offense is more old school highschool-style than pro-style.

Doesn't sound too promising. I think this will be Tony's team for the foreseeable future.

At some point you start to blame the talent evaluators and the person who coaches them up.... IF this is in fact true.
Brandon Harris is barely a year removed from high school. Why not let the development process take shape before passing judgment.
There are players still developing at other positions which don't require the assimilation of all that is required from the QB position. Do you think Dak Prescott was further along at this stage?
Look at some of the play of Jamarcus Russel and Matt Flynn in 2004.

Should we put all of the Harris fan boys on suicide watch?

What is bothersome is all the backlash posts. Some of these folks will attack you whether its true or not because they just don't want to be faced with the possibility Harris truly is NOT what they hoped.
Thanks for your post.

There is more than a couple, yet we continue to try and fit a square peg in round hole.

Not really.
Harris just never had to do any of this before. Problem is not his talent.

Retting must have been awful.
At some point you have to look at the long line of failed LSU QB's and realize there's a systematic problem.
