I say true.

Despite Ben Simmons being the most talented player on the team it really seems like LSU's ability to make it to the NCAA tournament rest on Tim Quaretman's back. It's incumbent upon number 55 to always play hard on defense, take high percentage shots, create and earn several assist a game and most importantly limit turnovers.

It just seems like when Quaterman is on this team can hang with and/or beat top ten teams in the nation.

Not to downgrade his importance, but I think a better correlation is Victor. If he is ineffective, in foul trouble, or both, LSU is basically doomed.

I have a mixed opinion.

For maximum potential, I'd say TRUE. When TQ is balling out, LSU is immensely better.

But I think LSU can succeed without him. As good as he has been occasionally, he's been a liability in other games.

This wouldn't be an issue if Epps, Malone, Robinson or Bridgwater could play at the same level for 5 minutes a game.

One could only wish that could happen.

For as much hate Malone takes, he's consistently been better than the other 3. Epps brings some offensive potential at times, but defense is pretty bad right now. Elbert and Bridge seem to average a foul every 30 seconds of court time.

True. And that's because you know what you're gonna get out of Simmons each game. You have no idea what you are gonna get out of TQ each game.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as "doomed." Craig Victor II is an integral piece to a potential tournament run, but when Victor has gotten into foul trouble, we've proven we can space the floor with Simmons and 4 guards and be successful. Just look at the Arkansas and Alabama games

I like Darcy Malone...on the bench! :-)

Here is what we need,IMO...

1. TimQ playing hard and focused in EVERY game.

2. AntonioB getting his long jumper back. He already plays hard on D and rebounds when he is in the game.

3. BenS staying aggressive in rebounding and on O.

4. Everyone else (Victor, Patterson, Hornsby especially) needs to always contribute.

These four things happen and LSU could end up 14-4 or even 15-3 in the SEC and a lock for the NCAA before the SEC Ty ever tips off.

Fair enough. Those are two bottomfeeders in the conference, though and Simmons basically put Arkansas in similar front court foul trouble. I see your point, though.

False. Craig Victor. No serviceable bigs behind him and Simmons besides Epps.

True....TQ gives us another scoring option....if he's on.... when Victor is in foul trouble or Ben is not hitting his shots. Problem is, which TQ is gonna show up?

Not so much now with Patterson and Blakeney playing well. TQ is way more effective against bigger slower guards . Small quick types give him problems on both ends of the floor. He's also become a mental midget at times. He can only make us better but we can win without a big night out of him.
