It's real simple.

He's in the same conference, in the same division, as we are. And he's the most dominating college football coach of all time.

LSU benefits from him being somewhere else. Out of the division is better. Out of the SEC is even better. NFL would be best.

Considering the University president just said that the $5.5 million they give Saban is the best investment they've made in his time there, I think they'd be willing to spend quite a bit more. I'd bet that Bama could pay whatever Texas is willing to pay.

UT is the wealthiest school in the country...and it's not even close. You also have to consider lifestyle. Would you rather retire in Austin or Tuscaloosa?

fwiw...I've heard Saban to UT for 8 mill/year

OK so Miles is not good enough to put a team on the field to beat him. TRUE??????? Or LSU fans are scared of the fact that as long as Saban is at Bama that we will always be behind Bama???

No top recruits would be going there from La.

But if he is at Texas, They will go there.

So, Ive been thinking about this question a lot. The only thing I can see propelling saban to take another job would be the threat of the NCAA coming down the pipe with a death penalty type situation over the pay for play (fluker and company). Im more interested in seeing how that little investigation plays out than I am in the texas rumors at this point.

No, LSU wasn't owned by Ole Miss or UGA this year

Yes they were. Sorry, But Ole Miss was ready and primed for an arse-whippen after the three games they played before they played LSU. LSU thought they were gonna come in there and whip them with ease. UGA was a back and forth game. BUT IF you have a top notch DC, you should have been able to stop them when it mattered most.

Amused. I think the population of Alabama would drop by half if he did.

Where in the crap did I state that I miss Spurrier beating the hell of my alma mater? Apparently, reading comprehension is not your strong point. I was simply stating that Spurrier used to beat the hell out of LSU and he would run up the score. We still face Spurrier in the SEC. Why isn't there any hatred towards Spurrier compared to Saban? Saban could have let his team score more than they did against LSU this past Saturday. People like you are still butt hurt that Saban left. You don't see Florida fans sprewing hatred at Carolina since he coaches there. If any fan base would have a reason to hate a past successful coach, it would be Florida. Look at the cluster frick that Florida is since Spurrier left. LSU's butt hurt fans over Saban coaching at Bama need to lube their asses.

I don't disagree, but that doesn't mean Bama won't match an offer from UT. They'd have to offer something crazy like >$10 million per year for Bama not to be able to match it. Just because they can doesn't mean they will.

How many SEC or national championships has South Carolina won that could've been Florida's if not for Spurrier being on the other sideline?

UT can throw the dollars at him and if it's reasonable Bama will match. He's not leaving Bama for Austin at this point in his life. That's my .02 cents.

Also...8 mill in bama equals about 10 mill in Texas. So they wouldn't be able to just match it. Plus...the dude has enough money at this point that I don't think just matching it would work. Austin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tuscaloosa

This is truth. And the recruiting base in TX is chock-a-block full. Bob Stoops would be out on the window ledge if this happened.

Then I realize Mack has cobbled together a decent record and will never quit of his own free will

Since they lost to Bama in the NC, the record has been mediocre. This includes a couple historic losses to OU. His AD buddy is out and the replacement they plucked from ASU, Steve Patterson, blew into Tempe a few years ago and cleaned house.

Brown is as good as gone. How he leaves is still up to him but the big money guys in Austin want him replaced.

Both I guess. Are these trick questions? I mean, LSU can beat Bama sometimes but it'd be a lot easier if Bama didn't have the best coach.
