As an LSU fan, what if Saban did go to Texas?

What what your emotional response be, on a scale of 1 to 10? 1 being completely apathetic, 10 being jumping up and down and screaming with joy. No, I'm not Bamasessed, but this issue seems to creep into everything LSU football these days.

Living here, seeing the initial reactions would be amusing

That's about it

I'm not sure why people would want this. He's already stealing LSU recruits from LA. If he goes he will steal LSU recruits from LA and cut into our Texas recruiting base.

Saban is at LSU. Just saw him recruiting for us on The Blind Side.

Everyone here would go streaming through the park and into the gymnasium.

Don't let the cool responses cool you.

I would literally ban myself if Saban goes to Texas. I wish people would just stop thinking about such retardness.

I would love it if for no other reason than to see Gumpville melt down. But realistically, even if he did, and I don't think he will, I don't think Bama folds. I think they'll find a capable coach and still be tough. But I do think Texas would start nearly sweeping the state with recruiting and like another poster said, probably get some La kids interested in Austin, and yeah, win some crystal footballs.

I don't know what my response would be, but it would be good for LSU.

1st - Saban would be out of Bama and we would not face him every year. That would open up a much clearer path for LSU to the SEC Championship game every year.

2nd - Saban would have so much talent in Texas and Ok that I would think he would venture less into Louisiana recruiting. He would still come in and try and get the Landon Collins, CRob and LF's but I think he would be less inclined to go after 4 star recruits.

All in all it would be a positive for LSU, so I guess I would be a 7 or 8. I would much prefer Saban take the USC Trojan job "get him as far away from Louisiana as possible" but that is not going to happen. But getting him out of Bama and the SEC would be great for LSU.

I'm far more concerned about what LSU needs to do, in order to be successful. It's not like LSU is only losing to bama every year...

Kirby Smart would be their next HC and they will take an initial hit in recruiting, but I don't think they would have much of a drop off on the field. If Les did retire, Kirby would be my first pick. Dude can coach.

Very good point. Still, I'd be happy to see him go. As for recruiting in La. I don't think that changes but at least we wouldn't have to play against them.

If more than 1% of the responses in this thread include numbers that are less than 10, then this thread will be a heap o' lies.

Emotionally for me, 1, though it would be a sports story of utmost interest. It would shake up a lot of things in CFB.

Bama will be tough no matter who they hire, Saban has built the program back to greatness just like he did at LSU. So yeah they will be tough, but they will not be like they are today under his coaching. And most importantly for LSU, I don't think no matter who they hire they will recruit Louisiana as well as they do now.

Without a doubt they will sweep Texas in-state recruiting, and they will win at least 3 NC titles if he is there more than 5 years. But I think because of so much talent in Texas Saban will not have to go into Louisiana as much recruiting. He will still try and steal any 5 star recruits we have, but I think just because of the shear number in Texas he probably leaves the 4 star recruits alone for the most part and that would be great for LSU.

I for one am pulling for Texas to get Saban, it would be a huge positive for LSU football.

Brother, even though Bama would suffer little to nothing because there next hire will just pick up where Saban leaves off, the sheer knowing that finally Bama got jilted just like us, Son can I tell you I would literally crap a gold monkey.

I would love it. Unfortunately I think Saban retires from Bama. He will coach for three more years

I hate to spoil the party around here.
Little known fact around here. Texas has lost two games. After which they have beaten OU and gone undefeated in big 12 play. Thus they lead the Big 12. Mack has a contract through 2020. So why would TX fire Mack Brown?

Every time an all-time great has left his school, the football program either got significantly worse for a decade or got caught cheating picking up right where the previous coach left off.
