You totally missed my point. Florida won NC's under Spurrier. Spurrier is winning at Carolina. Florida has been in shambles since he left. NC's have nothing to do with it. Saban can draw the talent no matter where he is. In fact, Saban at Florida would be a nightmare for the SEC. The guy can recruit and win. I hope that Saban stays at Bama. If he stays, the rest of the SEC west will have to upgrade their facilities. Have you seen BDS or the campus at Bama? Their stadium and campus puts LSU to shame. Bama also has a record breaking class of freshmen that want to attend the university. Bama is the only school that this state cares about. Auburn reminds me of Tulane when they were relevant. Yep, I'm 62 and can still remember LSU hating OLE MISS and the Go to Hell Ole Miss buttons and signs. BTW, when I attended LSU back in the late 60's and early 70's, LSU always spelled Go as Go. USL used to always say Geaux. After all, they are the Ragin Cajuns. Where in the history of LSU were they were dominated by a coonass administration? Geaux was definitely stolen from USL.

Bama would get a second mortgage on the University to keep Saban. I read an article today "10 reasons Saban will go to UT". It said one, the Longhorn network and Bama has a $650 million "budget" or net worth???? yearly (don't remember) and UT has a 6 BILLION. Bama not close. Lake Travis is awesome. Smart people there.

Yes, bama would initially maintain a certain level jus based on talent alone. But, if you're telling me them losing the best coach in CFB wouldn't hurt- GTFO! Smart would do ok, but not to the level of Saban. I think it would be like if Saban left for the Miami dolphins.

LOL. They've won double the amount of national championships since Spurrier left than they did while he was there. Yea, they're bad this year, and they weren't very good under Zook, but they haven't been anywhere close to "in shambles" since Spurrier left.

I was there this weekend. I agree that BDS is nicer than Tiger Stadium and their campus is first class, but it doesn't shame LSU. Just because one thing is better than another doesn't mean the other thing is garbage.

I have no idea what you're talking about in the rest of your post.

They're probably not going bowling this year. You know how f'ing bad a D1 school has to be to miss a bowl?

For a school like UF, this has to be the very definition of being 'in shambles".

Ask any Florida fan if they still wish that they had Spurrier. With the talent in that state, Spurrier would have won more than one NC. Considering what Carolina was before Spurrier got there, that man is doing a decent job. I remember when LSU played a very good Carolina team and they had the so called Black Death. LSU totally destroyed them. I wonder who was the coach back then? Was it Saban? Hell yes I'm being sarcastic. Do you know who Tannerhill is?

I hate to burst your bubble, but Saban loves living and coaching in the state of Alabama. He and his wife are definitely set to live in this state after he retires from Bama. They still have numerous friends in La. which is close to them after retirement. The man will shatter the Bear's records, so what else is left for him to achieve? He will surpass the records of the greatest coach in college football.

I'm not the stupid one. Your father is your mother's brother. I don't agree with your point of view, yet I'm the stupid one. Guess what? I have two degrees from LSU. My first one was back in '72 and my masters was back in '75. Please be honest, did you ever attend LSU or are you one a graduate of one of the directional schools that wasn't admitted to LSU.

i dont know if he is finished or not, but I take comfort in knowing when he is done there the pillaging of Louisiana talent will end with him at Bama.

You try to impress with your list of academic achievements and then you throw an ad hominem like that in there. Based on your post you appear to be around my age. I don't even have a degree and I know that is poor debating tactics. Try to clean up your act a bit and you may get further with your point.

I would just enjoy watching the BAMA meltdown. It would be kind of like watching two people you don't know fight at a safe distance.

-5, meaning fricking pissed.

Giving Saban the keys to Texas would mean he could have that team ready to dominate football by 2015. You think he hurts LSU's recruiting now? Wait til he takes his current connections in LA and AL to Texas and has the most fertile recruiting state in the country at his feet. In an easier conference, at a prestigious school voters love, with a media network to politic/recruit for him he would be walking into a dynasty. Even though it doesn't seem like it, we're actually poised to compete with Bama, so I want him to either stay there, return to the NFL, or retire.
