gotcha. btw those ugly buildings you posted were probably built in the 70s when every single school was building ugly buildings.

Yea and 2 of the three "ugly" buildings were actually supposed to be temp structures.

You're probably right, but it seems that we're still building them. I do have to admit the dorms, bookstore, chemistry annex, and Dairy Science Labs look great but the BEC is a wtf.

yes the BEC sucks but thats 1. every other building they have built or redone (journalism bldg) seems to look pretty good to me.

And the journalism building might be the pretty building on campus now. It's amazing what they did to it.

eta: im excluding TS btw for the moment. To me that's another topic entirely.

I understand why people hate the BEC, but I think the overreaction here isn't warranted. It's got the concepts of the campus interior, wasn't built in the middle of campus, and is a magnificent facility on the interior.

Since the LSU master plan was created, it is the only building that has been constructed that hasn't followed the specific design of the campus interior.

I bet you think Einstein said that too right?

Fwiw, I hate people that say this shite.

add the new parking garage to the list of nice looking buildings. its just a garage but they manage to make it look aesthetically appealing and not just a dumpy garage.

to me the circular building is kinda cool. basically it boils down to the green bamboo looking shite. if they just pulled that out it would be fine, especially for the technology/modern nook of campus it's located in.

Yep, in the last decade anything built in the "old" part of campus has followed the original design from the 1920's.

Yea, I know what they were going for here...and it looks great from the interior, but it was a whiff from the exterior.

The new parking garage looks real good. I wish they'd build another one similar in that parking lot by Parker Coliseum. It'd really spruce up that side of campus. Here is one of SMU's and it looks good. I like their logo engraved in the concrete

Come on LSU, keep campus tradtional (for the most part). To the LSU department who approves of these modern buildings --> "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

I disagree

LSU's new business school was recently ranked as the 10th most beautiful business school by these guys:

The new chemistry building annex is gorgeous

The new Barnes and Nobles isn't too shabby, either

They're planning to build one on the old softball stadium lot behind the newer dorms. I'm also really looking forward to seeing how the whole "Nicholson Corridor" development pans out.

Is this part of the master plan from last year or did you hear something specifically about a project? I like parking garage$.
