Why are we saving a whole "reserved" section(s) for greek students if they don't even come close to filling it?
I agree... This is ridiculous. They had a whole pizza section missing the entire game.

Why do some of LSU's fans worry about friggin' attendance to these OOC games against ULM, Sam Houston State, etc? Do you really not understand the situation or are you 12 years old?
Here ya go kiddies so you can understand:
*Many LSU fans actually WORK for a damn living.
*Many LSU fans don't live in the Baton Rouge area.
*Many LSU fans have kids who require babysitters.
*Many LSU fans BUY season tickets just to go to certain games and intentionally stay home for crap games.
It is not worth the hassle travel, motels, & traffic jams, etc. for many fans to come see a game against
ULM or SHSU. The end result is that the seats and parking passes are still paid for and LSU still gets the money. There is no hit to LSU with the exception of concession sales. It is simply not worth all the effort to come to a game like ULM for many people.
Here is another situation. For SEC games LSU will usually provide the visiting SEC fan base with 6,000-8,000 tickets. Schools such as ULM simply don't bring many fans so there are more SINGLE GAME TICKETS AVAILABLE for games like ULM and SHSU.
Finally, because it is so hard for many LSU fans in major metropolitan areas such as Houston & Dallas to attend many LSU games LSU will stage a game in those cities because there are so many LSU Alumni living there. This way those LSU fans have an opportunity to
go to a game and support LSU in areas where LSU maintains HUGE Recruiting interest. Major contributions for LSU athletics, academics, etc. comes out of these cities just as it does in N.O. and B.R. It is in LSU's interest to have a presence in these areas.
What always gets me in these threads is that some nimrod always says that why does LSU have the games in Houston, etc. because it is difficult foir themselves to attend games out of Baton Rouge yet they don't seem to understand that is the same situation for LSU fans in Houston, Dallas, or Atlanta.
All that being said, just wait until this weeks game with Mississippi State. You will not be able to move.

quote:these are reasons why people don't show up at all to some of these games. The point is why can't those that bother to go at all stay for at least three quarters? Why does 90% of the fans that come HAVE to be out of there so soon? It's like they hate being there and can't wait to get out!

You're probably right, at least for the first part of the game. But if we're up by two touchdowns in the middle of the 3rd, you'll see a whole bunch of empty seats. To me, that is still a close game, I just don't understand why a fan would leave at that point.
Last night there were thousands of empty seats in the middle of the 3rd and we were only up 17-0.
I have been going to the games for 15 years straight now, and it is obvious that the fan base has changed. I'm beginning to think it's ADHD, the fans get bored and there are other things they want to do.

Who thinks the tailgate scene contributes greatly, wether it's to get back out to partake or to pack up.

It's amazing Lsu football somehow survived for over 100 years without playing neutral site games out of state.
Just move campus to Houston since that's where all the important alumni are

Why don't people like going to LSU games anymore?
If you don't stay on campus it's a F'n nightmare to get out of the place. It's gotten worse every year and keeps many at home. It's not worth the frustration !

Leaving at half time of a 10-0 game because it's boring. Good lord. Fact is, people have been leaving TS like this for 5-6-7 ys now, which is their right. But don't turn around & brag that TS is one of the all time greatest stadiums in the world. Except for 1, mabe 2 games a yr, out of 8, TS is below par in both attendance & energy.

So what. People that are complaining about leaving early seem to be concerned about our 'image'. We'll guess what, our image has never been better! So something's working.
