Back in my day if a pitcher ear holed a player on purpose he got his arse beat promptly after the game. Youngsters thinking a bat flip is lack of respect is a joke, especially in the same breath you talk of ear holing players. Neither are appropriate.

if i were playing i wish a mfer would throw a pitch and earhole me for the guy in front of me flipping a bat after taking his garbage arse yard...i swear i would go knock his first baseman out once i got there...makes just as much sense. then pandemonium ensues. hell yeah it would look like the bad news bears out there.

I hadn't seen it before now, and by reading the responses, I expected something egregious.
And I thought that would be surprising, especially a Barbe kid.
A flip like that one is often seen now after a quality AB, much less a no doubt homer. Anyone expecting retaliation after that is out of touch with the times.
And for those that just have to feel satisfied with a response from Arkansas, I think they responded quite well Fri night with the final score.
