The thing people need to not forget is that we are also losing Kendrick Adams. If we lose Montgomery and Brockers on top of that, we've lost 3/4 starters.

Mingo is a great talent, but he isn't ready to be an every down DE. He doesn't have the size for that.

Our DL will still be extremely good and pretty deep, but not as good as this year.

I don't think Brockers goes, and Sam can use another year to make him a top 10 pick, but I just don't see him rated as highly as others.

I've only seen him rated #3 DE on one site (CBSsports) and the others don't even have him listed at all.

I hope you are right but I agree with Hot Carl. People are underestimating how special Brockers is. He could be close to Dorsey if he comes back. I will bet anyone $500 that if we lose Brockers, Montgomery, and Randle that we don't win the SEC.

Those of y'all counting on Mickey Johnson to be some stud need to keep dreaming..another Davenport/Downs just with a bad attitude.. Will probably end up leaving before he ever plays a down

I think he has potential to be the best DT ever at LSU. His stats are good, but not a straight indicator of all that he does for the defense. He's an all-around beast in the trenches and he's only going to get better.

Anybody who thinks Brockers "hasn't done much this year" doesn't watch football. That guy has been the keystone of the D. He has dominated the line of scrimmage all year long. I am shocked that more people in the media haven't caught on to this yet.

Firat off, who is marlin? And 2nd itbest shouldnt matter with a team of lsu quality. We lost dorsey, we got nevus, lose nevus and a guy like logan steps up. We all knew brockers was going to be solid. We know freak will be solid, just depends who they next guy that will step up. This has been the theme for every position except for qb. But its not easy to do what jmarc and flynn did when lsu likes to run the ball.

Just a lil tidbit on mickey, i talked to gis cousin saturday and asked him if he was switching to oline, he said he didnt know, but that mickey would do whatever the coaches asked of him to see the field. Just glad we can get guys in here not afraid to play where the coaches put you.

Logan>Brockers
Freak=Brockers

We will be just as good at DT if not better next year with Logan having another year of experience and Freak is going to make some noise next season

I've been touting Brockers all year long. Rewatch the Bama game if you believe Brockers will be a 4th round pick.

He ate the interior of Bama's offensive line alive. He drove Barrett Jones' arse into the ground multiple times, but one player in particular was just eaten alive: William Vlachos. Brockers just toyed with him. Every time the ball was snapped, and Bama attempted to drive Brockers off of the line with Vlachos, no movement occured.

He's the best NFL defensive line draft prospect we've ever had. WITHOUT QUESTION. He's a better prospect than Dareus who was the number 3 pick in the draft. He's a better prospect than Dorsey, Booger, T. Jackson, K. Williams, etc. The only way he doesn't go in the Top 5 is if he leaves after this season.

He's 6'6 300 lbs., and he can move for a beast his size.

I posed earlier this year that this is the best defensive line we've ever had, and that's the case mainly because of Brockers and Montgomery.

Every defensive line starter will be at worst a mid-round draft choice, and we have three sure-fire first rounders on the line if Mingo progresses the way I believe he will. That's also assuming Logan isn't a first round draft pick, which is a stretch considering the way he's been playing.

Lavar Edwards is one helluva player too. He'll be drafted.

Montgomery would improve his draft stock by returning, but I don't see him cracking the Top 10 unless he runs really well, which he can do this year or next year. I wouldn't fault him for leaving.

Brockers should come back. There's not enough buzz surrounding him at the moment, and I think that would change in a big way next year.

Unortunately, looking over the D line prospects coming out this year, the draft looks to be fairly weak. That could boost the draft status for these two. Still, I don't see them leaving. The spotlight will be on this team from day 1 next year, especially the defense. Montgomery and Brockers could be drafted high in the first next year if they stay.

No. Not even close.

As others have said, Freak is more Dorsey.

Brockers is someone he haven't really had. He's a taller, much more athletic, non-morbidly obese version of Mount Cody.
