LSU's success on the front this year was depth. Limemen were very good, but were deep which enabled them to play at a high level late into the game, season.

Brockers is akin to a Big John Henderson/Albert Haynesworth type. Chavis has alluded to this. He's also made the statement that he wouldn't trade either of his former pupils for Brockers.

Brockers' emergence this year can not be mentioned enough. They are engaging, shedding, & tackling machines. Their ability to shed OL & then disengage is a work of art.

Anyone who says that Brockers isn't your best DL is an idiot. He's the catalyst that's helped this Defense do its job. When a team can't run up the middle effectively, then you're simply going to have problems with your gameplan.

As someone posted earlier, his play in the Bama game was superhuman. Their vaunted OL could not move him off the Line Of Scrimmage. He was a force of nature in there that would not be denied. I was sincerely impressed at the replay.

We aren't talking a lot about Bennie Logan either, but that kid has a shitload of potential that he's shown a bit of, as well. But playing alongside a kid like Mike Brockers will take the heat off of you, much less the entire defense.

Brockers is a MAN. Plain and Simple. Losing him would definitely hurt our DL. Especially since he will only continue to get better.
My opinion all year has been that Brockers is LSU's MVP. He doesn't fill up the stats sheet, but helps others fill it up because of what he does.
I think if he comes out, he'll be a 1st or at worst 2nd rounder (I'd bet 1st once NFL guys started really looking at the tapes).
He comes back next year and doesn't get injured, he's a top 10 pick.

Sam is different. He's excellent. But, I think he could use 1 more year for sure.
