We are talking about Tulane, right?
With all due respect to both Tulane and their new coach, great hires is not something I normally associate with Tulane.
Tulane's baseball hires are almost always successful

Folks on the Tulane board posted some sour grapes type tweets from Cannizaro's family that have tarnished his reputation a bit with some fans.

tulane used to make bad hires. pierce was a dickson hire, i'll credit him. but Dannen has made three solid hires now. remember he turned northern iowa into a sold athletic program - that means he can help even tulane
