I agree with this, and if you look at the comparison I made above showing the poll through the season you can see that starting at week 4 poll vs the final
2007 had 4 end in top 10
2008 had 3
2009 had 7
2010 had 7
which is more accurate than the pre-season polls. It just showes that you don't know what your team is going to be until they step foot on the football field, and moreso until they play against another quality team

Like many have said, if Bama thumps Michigan they'll move to 1 anyway. I like it when the Tigers are ranked #1 in any poll, but if not we'll be ok..

Ya, I like our chances this year to make it to the NCG too...our OOC games are very easy so we'll be fresh for our SEC play..and we have a bye before BAMA...Les is pretty good with extra time to prepare..unless he's in a love fest with JJ...

So now when Bama loses to LSU for the third straight year they will only drop to #2. Yup Bama will be in the NC again. Do y'all really expect 11/3 to count any more than 11/6/11?

Good, I wish LSU was lower.
I don't care what LSU's rank is preseason, only what it is at the end. The lower we are, the more our opponents will underestimate the Tigers.

pre-season rankings are overrated IMO if we win all our games we are going to the national championship no questions asked. Even if there are 3 no loss teams, LSU will be at worst #2, no-one would rank two teams in front of LSU after beating a probable number 1

Bingo.
Regular season is meaningless for teams like Bama now. You people need to get this through your heads.
It is actually a benefit for a team like Bama to LOSE this game. Get a week off to rest and have your program's brand promoted all day on ESPN while your "genius" coach begs for a second chance to win their biggest game of the season.
