2005 - 10-2 - Winning % 83
2006 - 10-2 - Winning % 83
2007 - 10-2 - Winning % 83
2008 - 7-5 - Winning % 58
2009 - 9-3 - Winning % 75

I think this is by far a more accurate assessment of this winning percentage argument. It's a serious misconception to think that the 2008 season was only 1 game worse than 2009. Looking at it this way, I think it reflects the trend. Very consistent success for three years, huge dip in production in 2008, and then an improved team in 2009, though certainly not as imposing as the teams from our first years.

What has been Miles' SEC record the past two years? Closer to average than good.

Who has been calling the shots on O the past two years? Who had the 112th rated O last year? Who still has Crowton as O coord. for 2010? Who can't judge talent (best O-line he's ever coached)? Who can't keep his head in the game in a tight game at the end? Who throws his players under the bus to cover up? Who can't recruit a stud qb to LSU?

We'll be fortunate to have a winning season in 2010, and if we do, it'll only be because of the talent on the team.

Why would I do that? I never said what they posted was wrong.

I know it's a bullshite arse website with little credibility. I understand your sensitivity. I can't help you with that, though.

still gary, after he led the offense to the most points ever scored in the programs history. this is his year to shine and show if he's good, or if he needs to go. gonna be fun to see.

probably should've just said, "this o line is gonna be trash." would've been the only coach ever not to speak in coach speak, but at least the ranters would know what to expect.

because he lost one game at ole miss? and they ran a slip screen against penn st that worked all game, but got tackled and we got a terrible penalty? yea.

all that was said was he did not tell jj to spike it, didn't know who did. and then took all the blame the monday. all of it.

well, chris garrett and zack lee are both 4 star qbs. give em time to develop. it's great that texas and brian kelly can recruit top qbs in the big 12 and big east where they've never heard of defense.

Im just curious as to why the entire SEC outside of LSU believes Miles is handicapping this team and are happy he is the coach.

It's called reality and glee!

LSU needs to send Miles a bill for the losses last year at a rate of $500,00/game (except for the Ole Myth game it should be $1M.)

I'm sorry. I wasn't aware that college football ran on a biannual basis. I'll have to run over to the SEC Rant and alert the Bama fans that they're sharing a title with Florida.

The same person that led the offense in 2007 when it set essentially every offensive record at LSU.

Who still has Crowton as O coord. for 2010?

Someone is is devoutly loyal.. perhaps to a fault to his assistants. It's tragic, but this is a personality flaw, not a coaching one.

15 players entering the NFL draft on Thursday.

Auburn 2005, Alabama 2005, Tennessee 2006, Ole Miss 2006, Auburn 2007 Florida 2007, Alabama 2007, Auburn 2008, Troy 2008, Arkansas 2009, Georgia 2009

Because if you hear something enough times, you identify it as the truth. This is the magic behind the music industry, and its the same for nearly all entertainment industries... such as college football.

And which one of these will be leading the team in 2010? BTW, I see you didn't include JJ in the list.

Perrilloux has used up his eligibility to play in college, Jarrett Lee will not be a starting QB at LSU because the coaching staff is trying to maintain stability at the position, Russell Shepard was converted to a position more in tune to his skill set, and Lee has not signed a LOI yet.

I did not include Jefferson because he was not a "stud QB" out of high school and you had restricted yourself to analyzing why these players did not commit to play at LSU

It's an illusion that Miles has recruited several highly regarded high school quarterbacks to come to LSU? Obviously not.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean they are not amatuer and have little credibility.

Which means more people get to view how unprofessional their writers are.

No, you just don't know amatuer authorship when you see it.

Shouldn't he have done that the past two years? Crowton's system has ruined Lee's confidence and its ruining Jeffersons'. Unless a miracle happens and he starts relying more on the running game, don't expect major improvements as long as Crowton is still here.

quote:

Well it clearly was not his best OL. If he really thought that, then this program is in bad shape with him as coach. If he was saying that to make his OLinemen more confident, then that's cool (I hope that's the case)

quote:

because he lost one game at ole miss? and they ran a slip screen against penn st that worked all game, but got tackled and we got a terrible penalty? yea.

That was the worst possible play that could have been called. First, you only have 40 seconds left and no timeouts. The only way to stop the clock is to 1. throw an incomplete pass 2. run out of bounds 3. get a first down. So common sense tells you to call a play that will result in one of those 3 scenarios. What Crowton did was call a play that did anything but that. The play was a high percentage completion play, so an incomplete pass was not likely. The play was to the middle of the field, so Ridley could not run out of bounds, so number 2 was impossible. And since it was a screen pass, it was behind the line of scrimmage, which meant the ONLY way to stop the clock was to have Ridley run for 10 or more yards, which of course was easily stuffed by Penn St. Do you now see why that was a very stupid call?

quote:

They won't develop as long as Crowton is here.

That all looks great, to bad we play bowl games too which hurts your argument. They still count just as much.
