That has to be the worst analogy I have ever read. Is there only one beautiful girl in the world? Why does he have to settle for the not as pretty one just because one beautiful girl left, especially when he's spending nearly FOUR MILLION god-damned dollars on the fricking prom?!

I want a great coach. I don't want a "pretty good one".

by the way, you're not the best program around.

Precisely because we have usually been satisfied with "pretty good" and have never insisted on great. Mentality of mediocrity!

When will this stupid-arse bullshite myth ever die?

Do you also think if you make an ugly face your face will stay that way?

Do you think you'll go blind if you masturbate?

Geez.

Okay, so this is where your analogy breaks down. In our case your "date" is too stupid to ever get pissed off. She's too busy smacking her gum, trying to fix your tie and shouting a "what-everrrr" across the room at your "ex."

At that point your ex just laughs and so do the science nerds (Vanderbilt) going stag but are there anyway because they rigged the sound system.

I'll give you a right back for the fact that you wouldn't want Tubberville here.

It won't, because it isn't a myth. Job security is almost non-existent for NCAA coaches, but a coach is going to be reluctant to go if there's almost no chance he can meet the expectations. And if you can find a great coach to hire he will come with some ridiculously steep buy-out clause.

No, there are other ways to explain your condition.

No, I've tested this extensively...

what im saying is les is a great coach, but it's not the one some people want.

the grass is always greener on the other side kinda thing. and most of the time, it's not.

Shitty analogy. Neither Les nor Saban has done anything bad to LSU ever.

Name a coach who would come to LSU and be better than what we have.

ETA: not directed personally at XIV. More for the whole board.

Seriously?

Dan Mullen
Kyle Whittingham
Chris Peterson

Off the top of my head.

I honestly think that I could have coached LSU the past two years and gone 17-9.

Why don't we all just "settle" on everything in our lives?

If to "settle" includes SEC west titles, the most wins in a coaches 5 year period, a 4-1 bowl record, the best 3 year period in LSU history, 4 years of national rankings, and a NC, count me in for settling!

Years as HC - 1
5-7 overall, 3-5 in SEC at Moo St.
Don't think so.

I can't knock this guy. IMO he's as good as Les, but not better. Question is, can he coach in the SEC?

quote:

Chris Peterson

Another good coach but same question applies. He plays nothing but a cream puff schedule right now.

Don't think so.

Better than Miles' first year as a head coach.

Well, Les can't. So might as well make this move--it would be slightly cheaper than Miles.

Seriously?

In my sleep. Anybody could. With players that good, it's virtually impossible to go worse than 17-9.
