Come tell me we lose this game if Poche starts on the same rest you want Lange to have on Wed.

I dare you.

FL lineup sucks. We start Poche and win with Newman closing.

We have to walk 3 of their 4 runs on base, and it still took lack of a good jump by Watson for 2 of those to score.

Tiger in NO, It Takes a Thief, et al, Vegas says 10 out of 14 teams that win first game take the series?

What say you now?

It's about Poche's health and his future.

You're a stupid frick and if Poche doesn't pitch well because he's on short rest we lose game one and definitely game two.

That's what I say

If you are so certain we win with Poche on the mound, then what's to say he wont do it tomorrow against a lesser pitcher for uf?

In that case, why not try to steal one from them tonight? Which almost happened. The pitching executed the game as planned. Reynolds got the 3 Mainieri asked for, he just pushed too far.

So, by all means, don't pitch Lange on short rest

Who is your starter Wed?

Lange is smart guy.

Edit: You give your players as many days rest as possible. We knew Lange couldn't pitch until at least Wednesday. So, that means Poche pitches tomorrow.

now you run the risk of losing tomorrow and not having Lange throw at all

Because there is not game to pitch on Thursday or Friday. LSU had the luxury of knowing that if they lost tonight, they still had a chance to win it all the next two nights. If LSU had a chance to not pitch Lange on Wednesday they wouldn't.

Yeah, the other guys pretty much said it. Pitching Poche on short rest against Singer would have been a monumentally stupid move. Now the roles are reversed for games 2 and 3 and LSU has both the hitting and pitching advantage the rest of the way. I like our chances.

I'm saying unless Poche walks 3 in a row, he wins this game.

That sucks, but that's what happens when you get in the loser's bracket. UF will not have their ace, who has thrown 2 shutouts in Omaha, start a single game in the championship series. Sucks for them.

Realistically, that was a really nice job by Tiger pitching tonight. Kept LSU in the game for sure. Very proud.

Singer was flat dealing.

PM made the right decision holding Poche.

Wait a second

The argument is we can't pitch Poche on 4 days rest

How many days rest will Lange have?

I've been a critic of Maineri at times on this board.....BUT the pitching rotation picked for this series was 100% correct even in hindsight.
