I might regret this post in the morning, but, oh well.
My dad passed away in December at the age of 50. He was my best friend and the biggest LSU fan I've ever known. He was a poster on Tigerbait since 2003 under the name "abellsu".(that's where I got "abellsujr", I would check in under his account now and then) He knew every player, number, and ranking out of high school. We talked literally DAILY about LSU. Sometimes we agreed , sometimes we didn't, but he was just as passionate about LSU as I was. Since then, it hasn't been easy for me to talk about sports with anyone, not my brothers or anyone else. Until I started posting on this site. It's great to find people just as passionate about the tigers as he was and I am. Eventually my wife will let me spend the money and get a tigerbait account, but I might not get one, I like this one better.
So, I just wanted to say thank you guys for talking LSU with me.

As many idiots as may post on here, there are some high quality posters on the different boards here. Sorry for your loss. 50 is so young in the context of 'life.' You shouldn't regret posting this here.

Good post, and anyone who comes here and slams you or tries to make light of your situation, just ignore them. They are trying to make themselves laugh at your expense. That is the downside to this site.

But, way more good posters here than bad. We all come here for different reasons. The Tiger fans who live outside of Louisiana and are in exile like I am in Alabama tend to appreciate this site more, but it is just about our only outlet for our fanhood.

I know you miss your dad. I am happy to still have my dad with me, but he is aging fast. I can see it. We always talk LSU and the Saints - over the phone now. It will be really hard when he is gone, especially watching the games. Thanks for sharing and helping to me to appreciate him still being alive.

Nice post. This might be the only thing you should regret posting.

I feel for you bro. My dad is soon to be 88 and has been a Tiger fan as long as I can remember. We still talk on Sundays after the weekends events, and I will miss that when he is gone.

Same age as my dad when he passed. Much too young. Keep forging ahead!
