I respect the mans privacy. I am completely blown away by this sites abilty to keep this concealed! Good job! I signed up just to start a thread about his absence. It was deleted in like 10 minutes.

I completely respect and honor the man's decision to keep the reasons behind his choice private.

However, he (and all of his supporters) have to also accept another person's desire to know the truth.

Hurst has the same right to privacy as others have to want answers.

You're exactly right. I don't care to know them. We all have private issues in our lives that aren't for everyone else to know.

But without answers there will always be speculation, and anyone who thinks people shouldn't be curious is full of shite.

I'm not saying that considering the circumstances that I wouldn't have done the same, but for 32 NFL teams that is the first thing that they will see......
Every year there is a player that I hear about playing a day or two after the death of a loved one, so quitting for a season altogether for any reason is a negative to these GMs, for any reason other than for that players own health or safety.

Make no mistake, the private details will be shared with NFL offices. And, if it is as bad as I believe it is, he will get tons of consideration. shite happens.

Good luck big man!!!!

If you say this:
quote:

I completely respect and honor the man's decision to keep the reasons behind his choice private.

Then you can not possibly mean this:
quote:

However, he (and all of his supporters) have to also accept another person's desire to know the truth.

Which does not lead to this total idiocy:
quote:

Hurst has the same right to privacy as others have to want answers.

How would my curiosity into some aspect of YOUR personal life equal your right to not tell me?

As has been said, if he is able to come to pro day, that'd be awesome and I'd hope the best for him. But because he did leave the team in the middle of the season, that will be the first question each and every scout asks him. Depending on the circumstances, which some here know, some do not.. myself included, may not have any effect on the scouts grading of him. Regardless, hope for the best for a kid. Sometimes life's a bitch.

In that we are each free to do as we choose.

I suppose I worded it poorly.

What I should have said is that Hurst has a right to tell everyone else to mind their fricking business. Everyone else has a right to ignore that and continue asking questions. Neither side can (or should) expect the other to understand or comply. It's a matter of personal difference between the two.

Unfortunately, without answers people will inevitably jump to conclusions - he's gay, his girl left him/had an abortion...whatever. Similar to Bilderberg or the Freemasons - people don't know what's going on behind closed doors so in the absence of answers they insert their own conspiracy theory.

On a personal level, I cannot imagine a scenario so deeply fricked up that I could leave behind a group of men I'd fought with, bled with, laughed with, and cried with. If such a scenario was presented to him then I truly feel for him. I don't think he owes anyone anything.
