state and university officials get first dibs on prime seating for away games

Let me be the first to tell you this is a load of crap. LSU doesn't give their employees jack crap when it comes to Athletics merchandise or tickets.

The only time State legislators get tickets is to events held in the Superdome.

According to Policy they do retain priority in certain offices.

I'm not referring to Joe Blow Equipment manager. We're referring to Chancellors office, President's office, AD's office, etc.

LSU should do the same to visiting fans IMO. Tiger Stadium has the best seating for visitors than any other stadium in the conference

Dammit there a TON of fail in this thread.

Settle down, Beavis. I've been here since 2005, this is not the first time this thread has come up. I know the SEC rules for vistiting seat distribution. I was just playing along with all of the "LSU is getting screwed" crowd. To hear them argue, LSU is only getting about 150 lower bowl seats.

Sorry for rantarding!

Well then that's a bunch of crap. They should yank all their tickets and make them pay money into TAF. I hate politics.

I've been to the last few Bama/LSU games in BR and you guys set up visitors similarly to the way Bama does. The Bama section in the lower level was tiny the last few times in BR. I was up in the nose bleeds at the very top of the East side upper deck in the thin air.

Bama used to be by far one of the most generous teams to visitors in terms of tickets to visitors. I remember many a year when LSU and Florida would visit when you guys would actually have what seemed like 10,000 seats together in the lower section and our qb couldn't check off in your endzone. At some point a few years ago, we started getting screwed by other SEC teams in visitor allotment so I imagine our AD retailiated and did likewise to visitors.

I completely agree that govt officials in no way shape or form deserve a piece of the LSU football pie. Not only can it be viewed as a conflict of interest for the state, but they don't do shite to deserve them.

We are not (I think) bringing a full band this year. Because of this, there are now more lower bowl seats for LSU fans.

Nope, just a 110-person pep band.

That sucks.

Another question, how does that get determined?

Bama always splits the LSU sections into the four corners of the upper level decks.

*LSU gives more than the SEC minimum (ETA: Per PRK, it's 3000 lower bowl seats)

This was true in the past, but not anymore.

The number of visiting seats in the SEZ has been reduced dramatically over the past couple of years. I'd say there are less than 2,000 visitor seats in the lower bowl now.

It was definitely noticeable 2 weeks ago at the Auburn game.

NN is lower corner endzone. Some of you people need to review the seating chart again and don't come back to post until you have it memorized.

A quiz will be given at 12:00 noon tomorrow.

It seems to be a trend all over the SEC. It really sucks for most people. Some of these upper endzone seats are so terrible it's really not even worth going. Bama is definitely included in that bunch and I don't care about the hype. I want to see the game. I love visiting away stadiums, and I've been to all SEC but SC and UGA, but I just won't go sit in crappy seats. Just not worth it.

Yeah, so I've been told. Think pep band is about 155. I thought they would've brought the full band for this game...oh well.

UGA is one of the worst in terms of giving visiting fans crappy seats.

The positive is that most visiting fans are seated together as a group in the nosebleed section. Unfortunately, you're so far removed from the field that you don't even feel like you're in the same stadium as the players.

I don't know if you can get to the lower level from the endzone decks, but if you manage to and don't mind standing the sidelines are a pretty cool place to be. It's harder to see plays develop but the atmosphere there is so much cooler/better than the upper deck. Unlike most stadiums, you can walk and watch from field level at BDS.
