ATLANTA - Miami waited until after the Peach Bowl to put up a fight. Miami and LSU players exchanged punches in the tunnel as they left the field Friday night after the Tigers’ 40-3 victory, the Hurricanes’ most-lopsided bowl loss. Matt Flynn threw two touchdown passes in his first start for No. 10 LSU (11-2) and the Tigers attempted two late fake kicks against the No. 9 Hurricanes (9-3). Georgia State Patrol officers intervened in the brawl, with one officer holding a Taser while trying to prevent more players from entering the tunnel. Minutes later, Miami’s Andrew Bain, appearing to be dazed, was escorted by officers out of the tunnel. Miami coach Larry Coker said Bain and teammate Khalil Jones were knocked unconscious, but no players were detained by police. Jones was taken to a hospital for observation, Coker said Saturday morning. “I don’t know what happened and I don’t condone it,” Coker said the night before.

I recall seeing LSU players running into the tunnel buckling up and thinking to myself "that's odd".

Is that Bain(#72) up top? I can't spot Shawn Jordan in that pic.

I'm pretty sure Johnathan Zenon was the one who knocked someone out with his helmet, swinging it around.

When you look at the box score, you realize that game wasn't as close as the score indicated:

MIAMI LSU

PASSING YDS (NET)............. 100 196

TOTAL OFFENSE PLAYS-YARDS..... 46-153 78-468
Fumble Returns-Yards.......... 0-0 0-0
Punt Returns-Yards............ 0-0 4-46
Kickoff Returns-Yards......... 3-39 0-0
Interception Returns-Yards.... 0-0 1-15
Punts (Number-Avg)............ 8-43.0 1-41.0
Fumbles-Lost.................. 0-0 1-0
Penalties-Yards............... 6-40 8-50
Possession Time............... 20:52 39:08
Third-Down Conversions........ 1 of 12 9 of 17
Fourth-Down Conversions....... 0 of 1 1 of 2
Red-Zone Scores-Chances....... 1-1 7-7

Yep. Back in 2005 Miami was still a damn good program. After this game, they had a mediocre 06 season, followed by Coker losing control of the team and getting fired. Golden is still trying to clean up the mess that dude left. And people had the nerve to compare him to Miles.

ha. I remember calling my "source close to the team" in the locker room not too long after the game, and he was like "gotta call you back, they're in here beating Miami up."

I think Bowe started the whole thing trying to steal a "U" stamped football as a souvenir.
