Did I decry EVERYTHING Les has done or his offensive issues?

Sure sound like you're decrying everything when you compare him to:

Yeah yeah. I heard the same shite under Dinardo. Same shite under Archer. Hell, same shite under Hallman.

A comparison doesn't have to be a 100% comparison. Besides, I wasn't comparing HIM to THEM, I was comparing the people who DEFEND him to those who DEFENDED those guys and how they approached the defense.

Besides, while Hallman was just flat out bad, Dinardo showed some real promise that just turned in to false promise and was pretty much 100% driven by his failure with Lou Tepper. Archer was a lousy recruiter.

Sometimes, good or decent coaches have ONE aspect to them that causes their demise as a HC.

Um. Is it some sort of universal college football law that a college starting Sophomore will not just have a bad offense but a GOD F'N AWFUL passing offense?

Seems that are several coaches and OCs out there who haven't heard about this universal law.

But hey, let's assume it IS universal law. What might a coach who has a catastrophe of a time with young QBs do in recruiting? Ya know, in order to avoid going from a Senior to having only a true freshman and sophomore?

Hmm. Let me ponder this dilemma.

look man. I am not saying that Les is good at developing a HS QB quickly. I have never even hinted at that. If anything it is his worst attribute.

And no, there is no universal law...clearly Tebow, Manziel, Winston and others have proven that young QBs can succeed

Now the last part, you're alluding to Les needing to do better at recruiting QB's so that we are constantly replacing a SR or JR with another JR or SR.

Ryan Perriloux was an idiot
Zack Lee wanted to play baseball instead
Gunner Kiel didnt have the chest
Stephen Rivers transferred out
Hayden Rettig transferred out

He HAS actually recruited to put his teams in a position to have a junior or senior take over every year, but shite happens. Is the "shite happens" Les' fault? Some will say yes. Some will say no. But the fact remains that we have had good offenses under Miles.

Look.

Here's reality. If somehow, Les was fired tomorrow and wasn't offered a HC job, he would have a HELL OF A TIME landing an OC job at any half decent school.

THAT is reality. He's supposedly an "offensive coach" and, even in his area, no big time school in its right mind would hire him as their OC.

You know that. I know that. Everyone knows that.

Well, I have no rebuttal. Fair point.

ShortyRob you are never going to convince the pumpers "Beefy5 & Lnchbox just to name a couple" that LSU is in a decline. You can point out all you want but those are the screaming meme's that huddle in the back of a sinking ship and go "All is well, don't leave the ship it will be fine." Trying to talk logically and rationally with the pumpers is just about impossible.

If they were smart enough to interpret a trend line they probably would have second thoughts, but they aren't.

Les frustrates the crap out me at times, but I have more or less supported him because he is the coach of the team I care about. He also can stand the scrutiny with his record. Charlie Mac was the first LSU coach I remember. Les still has a better winning % than Saban in a now tougher league at LSU. I thought Saban was slightly better than Arnsparger but younger after Saban left. Saban did introduce me to the fact that LSU could be a NC.

Saban has improved as a coach in the interim and yes has been lucky at times. Saban is a better head coach now than he was for LSU and is better than Les now.

Having said that, Saban is no longer here. Les is the second best LSU coach in my memory and arguably the best at LSU by any objective standard.

ShortyRob makes some good points. I think the results in 2015 and 2016 will determine how we all look at Les in the long term. The Miles curse is based on Saban going to Bama and being very successful.

I believe Les will get at least two more years regardless of what happens next year.

Agreed. IE, if you predict it will rain long enough, eventually, it does.

But, I can tell you that I was on message boards for the Dinardo era and it fit my synopsis perfectly. Nowadays, even the most positiger on here will claim he knew Dinardo was going to fail.

And yet, back then, that era's version of "pumpers" was just as common and all of the arguments were pretty much the same.

Keep in mind, many of the loudest Anti-Miles "fans" on this board are guys who have been clamoring for the man's head since he blew a 21-0 lead against Tennessee in the wake of two of the most devastating natural disasters in the area's history while the PMAC was functioning as a make-shift relief center and R&B Legend Fats Domino was sleeping on our starting QB's couch. Serious, well educated, highly regarded people I know well and who are well connected within TAF and beyond were, seriously, calling for the man to be FIRED after that loss.

That's not a joke, it's not hyperbole...it happened.

Now...we're 10 seasons into the Miles era. Won a National title, played for a second, won two SEC titles, played for 4 and had the longest run of sustained success in the program's history. I ask you...were those clown right? Even if the wheel do fly off, does the fact that they eventually rightly called "the collapse" a decade prematurely make them correct?

I'd say no...but the mileage of others clearly varies.

That is about as great a point as anyone can say, and flat out the truth and I don't even think the pumpers can argue that one. At least you won't see one of them step up to the plate and take a swing at it that is for sure.

But he is not the OC at LSU he is the HC, our OC needs to make the adjustments. Oh wait just remembered the OC is Miles best friend and stood in his wedding.

That OC looked pretty good in 2013. Glad to see your positivity lasted all of one day.

Well, actually, while everyone in here knows I'm no Miles fan, I happen to think that it's still fair to say we are probably only in the Step 2 stage of what I listed.

I can get on board with this. How Jennings and Harris conduct themselves in the offseason and the DC hire determine whether we recover or spiral down.

in a discussion of his theory of relativity, a student asked professor einstein about E=mc squared:
Professor, what is Energy?

Einstein answered "Energy is Thought."

The amount of energy used on the rant could power the electrical needs of NYC!

think, think, think..........
either energy or bullshite!
