Haha so the guy in the middle of the entire scandal (Lester) ADMITS he lied and Jones had nothing to do with it...but you still blame Jones? Smart guy you are. You obviously have a lot of information and facts to back up your view on the matter.
Earl is so believable either way. It benefits him as much to lie to us that he lied to the NCAA as anything else.

I think Jones could be successful. I also think he could be a failure. And I think the same is true for any coach we hire.
My only point would be that Jones' North Texas resume and .500 conference record does not qualify him to be LSU's next basketball coach. If he had dominated at North Texas, I might be singing a different tune. But, he hasn't.

What else do we have to go off of? Your gut feeling? At this point, more people are saying Jones is clean than those saying he was dirty.

Guy is a walking character flaw. Why would I automatically believe him either way when he's motivated by other things each time?

And Billy Donovan actually regressed while at Marshall...that's all I'm saying. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith.
Johnny Jones' record since 2006 is not bad at all considering the history of North Texas basketball. They have made 3 NCAA tournament appearances ever, 2 of them under Jones in 07,10.
They have ONE conference championship in the history of their basketball program...in 2010 under Johnny Jones.

Jesus, you can't be serious with this.
You want to play this game? Jones went 15-14 in his first year before not having a winning record for the next 4.

Are you like 12 years old? Maybe 7th grade education? You are totally missing my entire point.
I am not comparing Donovan's record to Jones'. I'm simply stating that Florida saw more in Donovan than simply his win-loss record at Marshall and it paid off.
ETA: You also forgot to mention the 5 straight years of at least 20 wins...at a pathetic basketball school.

I'm still waiting for this JJ's version of LookAtMe to start posting spreadsheets on his behalf.

The talent here is so-so, but to be competitive you need to recruit on a national level.
That's what I was getting at about going against the political grain.
How do you have the initial success Trent had and fail so badly at recruiting? That should have started the success ball rolling.
Better to have CT2, et al, in your corner, than neutral, or even dissing you and the program to contacts and recruits.

So if we dont have JJ at top of the list we get called names by Tim Brando?

The third round is not the Sweet 16

In Lester Earl's apology letter, he still admits to getting paid.
"I caused great harm, heartache and difficulties for so many people," Earl wrote. "I hurt LSU, and I am sorry. I took a small amount of money from well-meaning people who tried to help me and my family. I'm sorry I hurt them, too."

All the people who want Jones think Louisiana is a HOTBED of Talent. Louisiana is one of the worst states we had one guy in the top 50 for Rivals Gathers and he is a 4 star player I think rated 32.
Getting the louisiana Players won't win basketball.
Dale brown recruited Nationaly Shaq, chris Jackson, Jose Varges and Stanley roberts were all out of state players.
Jones is not a National recruitor. Big Mistake!
Brando is wrong.
And don't say it's cause he's at North Texas, Tyndall recruited a top 15 class at Morehead!

In November 1998, at the conclusion of a 21-month investigation, the NCAA placed LSU on three years' probation. The violations, the Advocate stated, stemmed "ostensibly from an admitted cash payment of $5,000 from Dr. Redfield Bryan, an LSU booster, to Earl."
