1) Arky '07 - After the loss to UK earlier we were granted a second chance by the football gods. This game was a chance to make a statement that we were legit NC contenders and I feel like we blew it. I was so pissed at Miles that I was ready to let Michigan have him. It all worked out in the end but it shouldn't have. We were lucky.

2) AU '06 - This one's been well-covered so I won't belabor it. The officials decided to put it in dry that day.

3) Iowa '05 - It seemed to me like Saban didn't even try to win his final game at LSU.

4) Bama '08 - Last year was a CF all the way around but to lose to Bama like that at home was gruesome.

5) AU '9? - I don't remember the year but it would have been '96-97 probably. We had a big lead at halftime and fell apart in the 2nd half. That one was particularly painful to me because I was watching it with an Auburn grad and his father.

HM - USC '79 - Ok, not in the last 25 years but that loss was heartbreaking after playing so well against the #1 team.

It matters. One is a a lower level colege team, but fairly competetive, the other is UAB - a glorified High School team.

Houston should not be coming into Tiger Stadium and beating LSU. And they did. And there is no excuse for it and at least in 2000, we were able to beat folks like Tennessee, UK, MSU, Bama, and Ole Miss and make and win a bowl.

Big Gerry wasn't even taking us to bowl appearances his final two years. That's pretty sad.

Damn no one mentions Bama last year??? That one hurt. I know we already had 2 losses, but that was the kind of game that was going to define the rest of the season. Win, and a lot could be taken away from that game. Lose, and the wheels very well could fall off, which they did.

Losing to Saban in Tiger Stadium when Bama was undefeated and ranked #1 really stung and still does. Anyway, here's mine:

1) UT 2005- Never been more emotionally exhausted after watching a game than that one. The definition of painful after the month our state was coming off of.

2) Ole Miss 1997- Horrible letdown game after one of our biggest wins ever.

3)Ole Miss 2001- Most people won't admit this, but a lot of us were having serious doubts about the direction of the program after this game.

4) Kentucky 2007- So disappointed that we didn't keep feeding Scott in the 2nd half. Still felt like we'd be ok in the NC race though if we won out.

5) Bama 2008- We needed a big win so bad at that point. I just hated seeing Saban get out of there with a win in a game that we gave away.

Whatever little magic was brought back dissipated after his 3rd season. The administration realized we were better off without him. Truth is nice but it doesn't mean jack if the results aren't there. And he got to the point that he couldn't provide those results.

"The Interception Game in 93 or 94 when we had the game won and Jamie Howard threw those INTs."

This.

I'm pretty sure it was 94. All but 3 of Auburn's points in that game came from INT returns or as a direct result of their defense getting a turnover.

I felt terrible for Howard during and after that game. They were up by 3 TD's!! Why was Hallman still passing the ball?!?!?

In all your excitement, you din't tell the Truth. Things came unravelled in Gerry's 4th season.

Truth is always nice. Yes, Gerry was let go. He did quite a bit for LSU during his time here. Kenny Bell & Luther Davis didn't tell the Truth. I believe it to be a direct reflection of their new coach.

After his 3rd season = 4th season. Read slowly, Sandwich.

He sure was fired. 1999 was terrible. His last season was worse than Curly's last season. Couldn't even get us to be bowl eligible.

Was at the game. Spent 10 minutes with my jaw on the ground and my brain saying GTFO of here, but my body wouldn't respond.

Yes. But I don't recall Hudson Curley Hallman directing LSU to a Bowl game in 4 seasons. Did I miss one?

And promoting Bob McConnell to offensive coordinator. And perhaps not replacing Vernon Banks earlier than he did. And maybe could have been more selective in the recruiting process.

And are you sure he's still on ESPN? Last I heard he was working for the Big Ten Network and joined some search firm headhunting coaches or something.

You're not posting misinformation again, are you?

Tennessee ranks #1. LSU kicks arse the entire 1st half and doesn't even attempt to try in the 2nd. That was the most pathetic loses I've ever seen. The entire LSU fan base that either sat through that game or watched it on TV should have been apologized to.

You have to be kidding me ? After all that team had gone through the last few weeks leading up to you say they didn't even try and the fans should be apologized to ?

That is pathetic.I'll take an "LSU homer" over some silly tough guy drivel like this anyday.

It doesn't matter, LSU shouldn't have lost to Houston and there is no excuse for going on an 8 game losing streak. Period.

don't disagree. However ,Houston at least has some tradition with some Cotton Bowl wins and SWC titles. Now the Sept of 2000 LSU team through Sept 29 wasn't a very good team. And,like Houston in 1999, UAB had a winning record and was bowl eligible but neither was selected for a bowl.

Nonetheless,I don't see how a loss to Houston in 1999 was worse than a loss to UAB in 2000.
