We need a 3b that can produce runs and is a threat at the plate.

Honestly Reid is one of the smartest and most patient hitters on the team. He was only a freshman and hit around .300. I have no doubt that aspect of his game will improve. However, he is going to have to get better defensively

When was the last time we had a lineup that didn't have at least one freshman as a consistent starter?

Yes. And provide some power in the lineup. Much needed.

1 or 2 freshman will come in and impress as always. Hopefully one will be a freak pitcher like Lange.

I agree. He played this year out of necessity. I really like Reid at 3rd. He had the two errors in game 1 but other than that the guy was solid and hitting around .300 he will only get better. Lochridge could DH.

There will be a lot of looking around and seeing what is what that I can tell you. Dawson, Lockridge, Wofford will all be looking for PT and that is not even counting any of the incoming freshmen. Should be very interesting. I sure hope McKay comes around because he came in with a lot of hype.

Or if you lose Freeman, Loch or Reid could play 2nd and the other could play 3rd. There will be options. We haven't even seen what Slaughter can do. The infield is crowded. This is why I think Dawson may be a candidate to leave us. Hope not.

Can Romero play 1st and Deichmann play RF???
Id like to have both bats in lineup, but Romero is huge liability at C defensively. Paps bat came on late too.

Watson and Slaughter may push for PT somewhere.

This should 100% happen.

That's a pretty big over statement.

Yeah I agree we will know more once we know who goes pro and who transfers because someone will transfer. I would love to see Romero at 1st, Deichmann in RF. Could Dawson play RF?

I dont think Reid has the speed to play second and he has somewhat of a decent arm for a freshman to play second.

He filled in ok for injured player.

As far as next year goes, we need a 3b that can drive the ball. He had 14 RBI. Fewest extra base hits among the starters. He needs to be more of threat than that.

He has a good eye at the plate though.

What's the story on Dawson? From all indications I thought he'd provide an early impact. I could also be way off.
