2015 Harris is 2nd in the sec in qb rating and has a td-ints ration of 9tds -0ints.

Rick, with all due respect, that post is the poster child for cherry picking.

You are quoting the best snippets from each year and comparing them to each other.

Don't you think a more accurate comparison would be to post something like our total passing yards for each year, 2006 - 2014? And include all the years you skipped? And post how LSU ranked each of those years in passing in A) the SEC, and B) The nation?

I honestly don't know and am much too lazy to look it up. But the stats you posted above made me lol.

maybe he means it's the same scheme in that those plays and formations have always been in our playbook but just that we didn't use them much. It's still a 'pro style' scheme just with a lot more spread elements to it, more like what most NFL teams do these days.

Not as productive as the iformation.

Holy shite. Bruh do you even watch the games. In every single game we have played we have run out of the I more than out of the shotgun. South Carolina was the first game the run our of the gun was even successful.

The only reason we have been in the gun more than usual the last 3 games is because of JDM being out.

LoL. The only thing spread about our scheme is the zone read.

Wow. If by most you mean 3-4 then yeah. Do you even know what the spread is? You think most nfl teams have a spread element? Good god.

You're trying to pick a fight about our offense. It's better....of course...what would you expect? Harris is playing much better and LF is playing outta his mind. Insert Jennings into the O and take out LF and see where we are. We wouldn't be undefeated thats for sure so yeah the offense is clicking right now because of 2 skilled players not because Miles/Cam suddenly got really smart.

This is without question one of the most ridiculous posts in the history of tigerdroppings. Hell, the whole internet maybe.

I mean, wow.

Uh no I'm not.
2006 JRuss was the best passing season in lsu history( set passing td record, single season completion % record and qb rating record)

2007- Flynn tied the single season passing td record
2009-JJ ws top 5 in the sec in qb rating 17tds-7ints this season is 10 most passing yards in lsu history
2011- JLEE led the sec in passing efficiency 13tds--1 int
JJ 6 tds -1 int both qbs had qb rating of over 138
2013-Mett threw for the 3rd most yards in lsu history
2015 Harris is 2nd in the sec in qb rating.

None of these are cherry picked.

I still think it would be a pretty potent offense with the things we are doing on offense this season. Most likely wouldn't be undefeated though with the early season penalties, bad special teams play, and defense lapses that have occurred. Jennings wouldn't have looked nearly as bad if we would have started doing this type of plays, and play calls last season. It's the same scheme just stylistically very different.

I thought so but with all the poster on here that shite on anything positive about lsu, you have to keep your head on a swivel.

I just mean that we use more shotgun,, more one back sets, more sets with 3 WR's. We spread the defense out more and try to give more room for Forunette to run and make it easier on our passing game. Not saying we run a 'spread' offense or a 'HUNH' offense. I'm agreeing with you that we have become a lot less predictable .

Why. Having one of the best passing seasons in lsu history is successful regardless of national rank. Since 1970 no sec program has put more qbs in the nfl than lsu. Having 1 of the best seasons of alltime at a top 10 all time program is successful.

Is there an offense out there that works well with a bad QB and a bad OL?

Im not even sure we're less predictable. We still don't let the defense dictate our play calling, but we've just dominated team on the los. Hopefully that's something we start doing.

No I'm telling you I don't judge a lsu qb success by national rank. If a lsu qb has top 12-15 alltime season at lsu, they were successful that year. Great? Not always but my response was to a poster that said our qb play sucked more years than not.

2006,2007,2009, 2011,2013,2015 our qb play didn't/hasn't sucked. I'm in no way saying these years were elite qb play.just that they weren't poor.

Even in those games we gained the majority of our rushing out of the iformation. It's no even debatable that we are far better running out of the I than any other formation. I'm not saying we shouldn't run out of the gun, I'm just saying that at our best we are lined up in the I with LF following JDMoore.

I do admit running out of the gun has been successful the last 3 games. Far more successful than the first 4. I think Guice may be better out of the gun than the i

No, because we don't rely on passing yards in our offense, we rely in efficiency. Or do you believe that there are 115 starting QBs better than Brandon Harris this year?
