no kidding, not gonna miss that dude this year. I honestly don't see the point in redshirting him.

i had thought they move Ott to a starting role.
they did that last season, it did not work out too well. I know it was against Florida but he should not be a starter just yet. He is more valuable in the closer/late innings role.

1 start in his career in the middle of the teams worst stretch of baseball proves he shouldn't be a starter. Also, its funny people forget how he wasn't exactly money outside of the starters role last year.

Very true if we have a couple of good starters, if not, he isn't that valuable there

Who do you see moving into Bert's role as a stopper and or middle / late relief? I know a lot of people questioned his value over the years but he came up huge for us in quite a few situations.

Yeah, he's a pretty big loss, people didn't really appreciate him for what he was. Hopefully Bradshaw can fill that role this year, if not maybe someone like Gausman

He finished the season strong in the closer/relief role aside from two games. Then he went to the Cape Cod league and dominated. (20.1 innings, 19 K's, 7 saves, 0.44 ERA)

Lots of pitchers look good in the Cape, I'm talking about while at LSU

The point is, the guy is getting his confidence back. His last outing for LSU was against Uc Irvine in the Regional and he showed up for that one too. (2.0 innings, 0 runs, 3 K's) It would be nice to see him turn into the next Louis Coleman but for now he should be a closer only.

thoughts on Eads competing for LF spot?

What about Grant Dozar, he played a few innings at catcher. Is he still with the team?

Thank you, With football almost over and basketball miserable to listen to, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking baseball.

Eades will pitch and probably get some at bats as well at dh
Ware might actually have a spot if those 2 players are gone and the injury spots open
Garrett's status is iffy injury wise and I'm not sure what his plans are

if he pitches in the offseason like he is going to be a starter, it would work out much better.
not switch him in the middle of the season after closing a year and a half

I feel ya bro! I watch the basketball games but I love baseball! Going to be at as many home games next season as possible and go back to Hoover like last season! That was an awesome trip!

Eades is going to pitch significant innings for LSU in 2011. He broke his left wrist in fall ball but should be well recovered by January. Hopefully Mainieri keeps him on the mound, that's where we'll need him.
