I think you have to be listed on the roster to be in the starting lineup.

It looks like Lasuzzo and Davis are not on the roster and we're still at 36. Bruno will be sitting out, so that's 35. Are the Tommy John casualties (can you remind me who they are again?) also going to be exempt from the 35? And if so, are they still pursuing some of next years signees for early enrollment?

Sorry about the question bombardment.

Bourgeois and RIttner- hurt

Moorman and Mautulis- transfer. CM also needed Tommy John.

The only position on the roster I'm worried about is the starting pitcher. They didn't perform very well last season. I think they'll be good but I just think they're questionable.

Well, the bats dying down should help our staff out. Especially Ott.

i had thought they move Ott to a starting role.

doesnt look like that is in motion yet.

I still think they should though.

they've added this Taylor Jones guy who is a LHP i believe after these guys went down and transfered

Mainieri said Rittiner and Bourgeios will not count in the 35 man lineup and will redshirt.

Also haven't heard the name of the early enrollee. (Pending there is an avaiable spot)

This feels like a dumb question... But will Spencer Ware play baseball?

we should all be somewhat concerned about starting pitching but it surely wasnt a strength last year. The loss of pitchers like rittner, mooreman, and matulis is concerning however it is not like they were go to guys last year. There is much more upside or reasons for optimism with the news pitchers coming in than last year. With basketball being nonexistent...I cant wait for the new baseball season.

ya know, Matulis just never got any better, maybe he would have finally turned the corner in 2011, idk, but I dont think he'll be a big loss. Same with Bourgeois and Mooreman to be honest

Rittiner is a big loss though...we could have a very good staff this year, theyre just young and inexperienced...we'll see
