What are some of your most vivid memories of the 1998 season? This is the only season that I attended every single game, so it is special to me. If you have any pictures from the '98 season, as well as memories (good or bad) please share them here.

I'm also hoping to get some pictures from the Oct 31 game against Ole Miss, the one in which we were losing 31-10 and came back to score 21 in the fourth quarter and send it to overtime.

Hope this schedule sparks your memory of the games and moments you remember about the season:

Sep 12 Arkansas State 7pm No TV
Sep 19 at Auburn 6:30pm ESPN
Sep 26 Idaho 7pm No TV
Oct 3 Georgia 6pm ESPN
Oct 10 at Florida 6:30pm ESPN
Oct 17 Kentucky 8pm ESPN2
Oct 24 Miss State 5pm ESPN2
Oct 31 at Ole Miss 2pm TigerVision
Nov 7 Alabama 2:30pm CBS
Nov 21 at Notre Dame 1:30pm NBC
Nov 27 at Arkansas 1:30pm CBS

Thanks in Advance!!!!

I would think absolute disappointment for most fans.

I vividly remember giving up 4 or 5 hundred yards to Idaho. I thought our defense might be a problem. By damn, did Lou Tepper prove me right. We made Quincy Carter look like Charlie Ward. I think Tim Couch completed 90% against us. Those horrible 4th quarter meltdowns against Notre Dame and Bama. Thank you, Robert Davis. Clint Steorner went in dry. What a sh*tty year. Didn't we start out preseason #8?

We gave 4 of those 5 games away, the other we beat the West champs 41-6.

Hillbilly yelling "Numma six team inna countreh mah arse!" after sloppy win over Idaho.

Champ Bailey almost single-handedly sending the entire city of Baton Rouge into depression.

Complete exasperation with defense after Kentucky.

Whipping Mississippi State's arse and thinking we had finally turned the corner.

Multiple black kids at the convenience store en route to Ole Miss game entreating us to destroy "them raciss bastards."

Ole Miss fans saying "take it easy on us today" because they had fallen for what we did to state as well.

Walking approximately 9702 miles from the stadium to the car after overtime loss.

Absolutely gave away Alabama game when our defensive backs decided to play volleyball instead of football and bat balls in the air.

Other than that, it was a great year.

Man we had a classic game at Notre Dame, suck that we lost it though. Was still cool as heck to see us play there

One of my few memories from that year, the ND game was about 3 weeks after our son was born but the wife still let me make the road trip with about 6 guys I had graduated with from LSU a few years earlier.

Still repaying those brownie points!

I remember watching the MSU game at Mr. Gattis thinking they'd finally beat our arse. Au contraire...
They finally got us the next year but cheated if I remember correctly (first loss to MSU in my living memory).

I seem to remember this being the night game where the LSU kicker missed kicks off of each upright and one off the crossbar. None of us will ever see that in a game again. And that was on top of the 2 tipped INTs for TDs that Bama had.

He should've caught it but man he was snakebit to bat the ball down and make basically no trajectory change.

If I'm not mistaken, Dameyune Craig and Quincy Carter both looked like Heisman candidates against our defense. We were in the top 10 (8 maybe?) going into the AU game and it was over from there.

Went to the UF game and we donned the gold jerseys with purple numbers. We dropped an easy pick 6 before half, which would've made it a completely different game. We were so close in almost every game. That season was third and Chavis before there was a third and Chavis. Actually Chavis was winning a NC that year at UTk.

I think that ND game was the Craig Nall is the future game where he brought us back but we still lost.

We beat Auburn that year, the D. Craig game was at home in 97 (Cecil Collins game).

You must be thinking of a different game. LSU was up by two touchdowns late in the third quarter and didn't score again until we had that safety with three seconds left.

Herb Tyler threw the last two touchdown passes, both to Abram Booty to put LSU up 34-20 with 3:06 in the third. Surely we were going to win this one and keep our bowl dreams alive...

Ah, correct. Yes, we beat AU and had UGA here and we were ranked 8. The defense could not stop friggin Quincy Carter.

On the ND game, I could swear maybe Herb go hurt and Nall came in? I need to look back on that one...

ETA- and Joe Wesley was a very good LB that year and he was the one that dropped the pick 6 vs UF before half. The funny thing was that Tepper told Wesley that from that formation, he would get an easy pick 6 from that play. Tepper actually called it perfectly and Wesley missed the play. That is one of the few positive Tepper stories I can remember, but that one always stuck out for me. That was after we upset #1 UF the year before and had a chance again. So close.

Yeah we couldn't stop Carter and Champ Bailey had a TD or two.

You are correct, Nall did play late against Notre Dame.

You are right. I remember Abram Booty dropping a Nall pass in the end one that would have won the game.
