Obvious answer is to start Lee. No guarantee we would have won, but there's at least a chance, and we know what the outcome was starting JJ.
No the obvious answer was to start Mett day one. Both of the other QBs were bad.

no, none...there was nothing.
you saw how ill prepared that offense was. there were no noticeable adjustments on that side from the first game.
bama, on the other hand, made small, simple, and very effective changes that kept our defense honest and on its heels for most of the game.
that is why 1/9 is so unforgivable bc it felt as if the game was won days, weeks before it even kicked off.

Quick question. If we had won that game, how different would things be now?
Believe me, things would be different. For the way I look at football now anyway. 1/9/12 changed the way I'm a fan of anything. I'll never be as emotionally invested in sports again.

maybe not be but doing absolutely nothing different when stinking up the place is inexcusable. 21-0 or 35-10 or 56-3 what's the difference. Meathead figured TM or the D was gonna bail his arse out and for once that year, they didn't. I was never a huge fan of LM but since that game, can't wait till he gone

We win that game of we play Oklahoma St and not Bana

With six weeks to prepare, I wanted Sepperd running the spread as plan B. Wishful thinking.

That game was lost when Les was duped into making that stupid comment about playing them again right after the 9-6 victory.

with an extra week's rest for his team
The extra week is a negative not a positive. College kids are 100% rested in about 5 days. Any extra time after that is about letting nagging injuries heal. These sorts of injuries - short of severe sprains - are totally healed in two or three weeks. So any additional time just makes you rusty.
If Lee had played instead of Jefferson we would have lost by 40. Lee was so scared of Alabama that he didn't want to play. His last couple of passes against Bama involved him flinging the ball up for grabs just to avoid being hit. Good luck with Lee.

Man Bama would have destroyed Lee
We'll never know. What we do know is that JJ played four full quarters and we didnt make it past the 50. That in itself is terribly sad.

In hindsight, Les should've given Mett more game reps throughout the year in all those blowouts so that he would be ready against Bama.
Yep. Mett was developed by Richt, then came off of a JUCO championship year to ride the pine. Had he been afforded the opportunity to actually compete for a starting spot, we beat Bama. He should have been about an 8 game starter by then.
Their Game Manager played his best game ever that night.
Both defenses were awesome that season.

Lee comes in at half time then the we have a chance.
With JJ we had no shot.
With JJ we had no shot.

Lee in 2011: 14 td 3 int, 9-0 as a starter, the highest pass efficiency in the SEC.
Do you really think this is bad?? I'll take this for the first 9 games every season for LSU.

The no shows by a couple of key players will always remain a mystery.

doing absolutely nothing
This is what absolutely pissed me off. Bama missed a FG in the 3rd quarter and the crowd got a little energy and tried to get back into the game. Then we trotted JJ and the same old ineffective offense out on the field for yet another 3 and out and essentially just rolled over and died. Lee probably wouldn't have made a difference, but you've got to at least try.

If ok st would've made a fg

Mett couldn't have done much worse, but considering his offenses failed against Bama in 2012 and 2013 it's doubtful he does much better.
WTF are you talking about? He threw for 300 against Bama in 2012.

But not enough points.

I doubt it. but I still hold the belief alabama had no business being in that game as we had beaten alabama in the game of the century. still frustrates me
