1/9 - Does LSU win that game in any scenario?

We barely beat them during the regular season. Saban had more than a month to prepare for us with an extra week's rest for his team. I know Miles' tenure at LSU is defined mostly by that fateful night, at least by the Rant fans. But was there any scenario in which LSU would have won that game? If Lee started or if he came in after halftime, would it really have mattered in terms of the final result?

If he would have given Lee a chance, maybe.

Man Bama would have destroyed Lee

if we score more points than bama we win.

Quick question. If we had won that game, how different would things be now?
Would we still be running the same shite offense? Would Miles be even more comfortable knowing that we couldn't possibly fire a 2 time national champion coach?
Would the people that feel we are on the verge of change be happy that we lost that game knowing if we had won we wouldn't be close to firing Miles now?

Obvious answer is to start Lee. No guarantee we would have won, but there's at least a chance, and we know what the outcome was starting JJ.

Not a chance. Bama was the only team that would beat LSU that season. Consider:
Lee was always awful against Bama.
JJ was hapless on 1/9.
Mett couldn't have done much worse, but considering his offenses failed against Bama in 2012 and 2013 it's doubtful he does much better.
LSU's offense is simply easy for Saban to stop. LSU's only chance was to somehow quickly implement more spread. Look at the teams that have scored on Bama lately: OK, Manziel, Ohio St, Auburn, Ole miss, Clemson. Spread teams or dynamic QBs.

True. And Lee should have been given a chance, but I just hate when people act like Lee was the obvious answer and would've won if only Les allowed it. Lee was on his way to losing the first Bama game.
The rematch never should've happened and LSU was not equipped to beat Bama a second time.

We probably had a 25% chance to win in reality.
Problem I had was the fact that we did not give the team that chance. We needed to throw the ball no matter what the outcome.
Why--because we were not going to run on that defense. 60/40 pass to run ratio to start the game with QB runs. See where it goes from there and adjust.
We played into their hands with a slow grind. Defense did great by holding them to field goals up until the very end.

Yeah if a meteor hits the Alabama team bus on the way to the Superdome.

Really, Mett was the only QB on that team with a prayer of passing against Bama. But he had no game reps and frankly it would've been pretty nutty to start Mett in the rematch
In hindsight, Les should've given Mett more game reps throughout the year in all those blowouts so that he would be ready against Bama.

It really wouldn't have mattered which QB we played if our line doesn't block better than they did. They were pathetic. JJ gave us the best chance since he was mobile but he was just as pathetic

Agree with this but I do think JJ had a chance to pull it out with more of a spread type approach with more passing. Problem is we should have worked on it all year.
Les rode our defense to the natty. Problem was the other team had a great defense also along with a decent offense.

Did you not see the 2010 LSU/BAMA game? Lee is a big part of the reason we won that game.

Had the oline bothered to block anyone it would have been a great game.

I'm not sure what game you watched, but JJ played most of that game and was QB for all of their points. JL was 4/7 for 67yds. He did have a long 3rd down conversion to Randle which sealed the victory near the end of the game, however.
He helped LSU win the game but he wasn't a big part of the reason we won.

Maybe if the Bama team bus crashed and burned on the way to the game.
