You are correct, sir! LSU will always recruit top talent.

Everyone around here is just going to have to accept that alot of kids with Noil's and Johnson's skillsets are going to want to play in Sumlin's offense.
Yep they are the Oregon of the south. Put up big numbers on offense and no hardware to show for it. Hope these kids get to NFL because they won't win it all in college at AtM.
It's will be interesting to see how AtM fairs this year with out Johnny Football.

I know that next year is a long time for these recruits to make up their minds but this thread is full of out of state posters glorifying the A&M team. These guys need to be banned from posting on our recruiting board. The bias is blatant. I know that some of them have thousands of posts. But they only harm this boards reputation.

quote:IMO Sumlin career is kinda like Urban Meyer at UF but not as good of course.
Look at Sumlin's numbers at Houston on offense and what Case Keenum did
Yea they had great offenses in the C-USA and Mac conferences and when they got to the SEC both got a freak of a Heisman trophy winner who both added a new dynamic to the QB position.
But as we all saw Meyer struggled and had a heart attack when Tebow left.
Unlike Meyer, Sumlin has NO DEFENSE, this year is going to be very interesting to see if that offense struggles worse than the Post-Tebow Fla offense looking like a monkey humping a football out there.

While Sumlins offenses do put up great numbers, it is a system and NFL folks do realize that. That is why Case Keenum is the NCAA yardage record holder and had to sign free agent. It is the same reason Sumlins wideouts really havent made a splash in the league. Sumlins most notable former WRs are Donnie Alexander, Patrick Edwards, and maybe Ryan Broyles from OU. So while Sumlins offense does put up big stats, it does not translate to most NFL playbooks, which is why his wideouts are not really highly drafted guys. Sumlin has a different route tree than NFL teams and his playbook is nothing like what guys run in the pros. So while I understand a kid wanting to put up big stats, Sumlins wideout track record isnt as great as people claim it to be.
You've got to think in terms of a 17, 18 yr old kid. They see the flash, they see they numbers. Because he (Sumlin) is in the SEC now, if his receivers do great, they are seen as very coveted prospects. Those guys will be churning out good WRs like Baylor has.
People are getting so defensive here, but I don't see why? There are more than enough to go around, stop being so greedy.

Don't be so short minded. How long had Sumlin been an OC or HC? How many 1st rounder skill guys has he personally groomed during all that time. Not as many as people lead others to believe.
I can tell you right now that barring injury, Seals-Jones will be a top 5 WR in the SEC this year. Those WRs always equate to top 3 rounds of the draft.

Seems way to early in the process to concede Johnson to A&M unless he has just come out and said no way he goes to LSU. Seems like a bunch of conjecture based off of nothing. We have some persuasive recruiters on this staff and like Dupree and a lot of other guys this year, it may be a battle down to the end.
